She is one of Australia’s most decorated athletes.
And now famed Olympian Susie O’Neill is set to launch a new career as a DJ.
Renowned as a swimmer, the 50-year-old mother of two will make her nightclub debut on the decks in Brisbane later this month.
‘I never really went to nightclubs when I was younger because I was always swimming,’ she admitted in a new interview with the Courier-Mail on Wednesday.
‘So I thought maybe it’d be fun to not just go to the nightclub but be a DJ,’ she explained.

The Brisbane based sports legend who co-hosts Nova 106.9’s Ash, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill show will play an exclusive gig at the MET nightclub in Fortitude Valley on May 23.
And night clubbers will only by able to obtain tickets via a competition giveaway on Susie’s breakfast radio show.
Elsewhere in the chat Susie teased that fans can expect an unusual set list from her show.
‘We’re going to try and make it a mixture of current stuff but also nostalgic stuff that people will remember,’ she said.

‘I’ve got my son who is going to send me what he says is really good songs that are going off on TikTok at the moment… This could fall really flat, but I’m not going to let that stop me.’
A gifted swimmer, Susie rose to fame at 14, after joining the Olympic team and later scored 35 Australian titles.
Known as ‘Madame Butterfly’ during her stellar sports career Susie has billed her DJ set as ‘Butterfly and Bangers’ as a tribute to amazing years as a swimmer.
Since 2013 she has been a regular on Nova, first as a sports caster and later as a host alongside breakfast team Ashley Bradnam, Kip Wightman and David Lutteral.
Susie retired from swimming after the 2000 Olympics. She shares two sons, Alix, 19, and Bill, 18, with husband, ophthalmologist Cliff Fairley.
