Supermodel Christy Turlington, 56, and lookalike daughter Grace Burns, 21, attend 2025 DVF Awards

Christy Turlington made a rare public appearance with her daughter, Grace Burns, while attending the 2025 Diane von Furstenberg Awards in Venice on Thursday.

The supermodel, 56, was joined by her 21-year-old daughter, whom she shares with husband Edward Burns, 57, at the star-studded event, held at the historic Teatro Goldoni theatre.

The proud mum wrapped an arm around her daughter as the pair posed for cameras ahead of the awards ceremony, where Christy received The DVF Leadership Award for her work with the non-profit organisation Every Mother Counts.

For the occasion, Christy looked effortlessly chic in a floor-length black dress featuring short sleeves, satin panels, a thigh-high slit, and a softly draped silhouette.

She added height with a pair of strappy, pointed black heels and kept her accessories minimal, opting for delicate hoop earrings.

Meanwhile, her daughter Grace looked equally elegant in a chocolate brown polka-dot dress with spaghetti straps, a cowl neckline, and a dramatic long train.

The model-in-the-making completed her look with simple silver stud earrings and beamed proudly beside her famous mum.

Founded in 2010 by Diane von Furstenberg and The Diller–von Furstenberg Family Foundation, The DVF Awards recognise and amplify the voices of extraordinary women who are dedicated to improving the lives of other women.

Each year, five women are honoured at the ceremony for their leadership and efforts to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Christy’s outing comes after she and Grace attended the Calvin Klein runway show at New York Fashion Week earlier this year.

The event marked the first Calvin Klein show in eight years, and the stars of the fashion world turned out for the iconic American brand.

Christy was one of the muses for Klein alongside Kate Moss, and both were in attendance for his return to New York Fashion Week.

Christy and Grace both wore black dresses for the event, with the Vogue cover model in a long black dress, which she paired with white pumps.

The wife of director Ed kept her black coat on during the event, where she and her daughter were seated in the front row alongside Moss and Alexander Skarsgard.

Grace wore her hair in an updo to complement the sleeveless, turtleneck, floor-length dress she wore.

Christy shares Grace and son Finn, 18, with her husband Ed. They met in 2000 at a charity event and got married in 2003.

Grace is following in her mother’s footsteps in the modelling world.

Despite being warned to stay ‘far away’ from modelling, Grace made her runway debut in 2023 at the X LuisaViaRoma show in Florence, Italy.

Two months before that event, the mother-daughter duo appeared in a campaign for designer Carolina Herrera.

Last summer, Christy shared a rare photo with her husband and two kids on social media.

Her sweet family portrait was shared in celebration of her younger child Finn’s high school graduation, a moment that the loving mother marked by lamenting her newfound status as an ’empty nester.’

‘I am officially an “empty nester” today!’ she wrote in the post, which racked up a host of likes from fellow fashion stars, including pal Linda Evangelista.

‘How do I feel about it? Ask me in three months, after my baby has moved out of our home and settled into his college dorm across the country.’

She said she feels grateful that they have reached this milestone.

‘Every day is a gift, especially when in good health and when we feel safe and well supported,’ the star shared.

‘I know by now that life and our experiences are fleeting and that what’s truly important is to make meaningful connections in this lifetime.

‘I want to thank all those who have loved and supported my kid along this wondrous journey so far,’ added the Versace model.

‘You all made it more fun and rewarding every step of the way. So, here is to whatever is outside of the nest and to embracing as much of it as we possibly can for as long as we can from here.

‘Congratulations, Finn & LREI Class of ‘24! We are proud to know you and to claim you as one of ours. #NoFinnNoFun #Chapman28.’
