Sugababes’ original trio have taken a brutal swipe at their former band members.
Keisha Buchanan, 40, Mutya Buena, 39, and Siobhan Donaghy, 40, formed the iconic girl band in 1998.
However, the lineup saw several shake-ups after Siobhan left in 2001, replaced by Heidi Range – with Mutya and Keisha eventually being replaced in the mid-2000s by Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen, respectively.
Now, appearing on Will Manning’s Capital Breakfast show on Thursday, the OG members reflected on the group’s formation over the years, stating that they will always be the best and ‘the essence’ of the group.
‘You three are the OG Sugababes but out of all the versions, which one do you think was the best?’ asked Will.

Mutya quipped: ‘The first one!’
‘I think the thing is, we started it when we were young teenagers,’ Siobhan said, while Mutya added: ‘It’s our baby.’
Siobhan continued: ‘And I think there will always be something about the Sugababes that is this for us, it is where it started, and it is the essence of what it is.’
‘It makes sense,’ Will replied.
It comes after the girl band announced that they are set to hit the road for their ‘biggest ever UK and European tour’ in spring 2025, with shows lined up in cities such as London, Birmingham, and Cardiff.
The original members reunited in 2019 and have since sold out The O2, shut down Glastonbury stages twice due to demand and performed to record breaking crowds at European gigs.
Announcing the tour in a joint statement, the Push The Button singers said: ‘We are so excited to announce our biggest ever UK and European tour.

Earlier this year, Sugababes worried no one would turn up to their Glastonbury performance – despite it being so popular that security had to shut down entry to their stage amid huge fan demand.
Appearing on This Morning, the About You Now hitmakers spoke about how nervous they were ahead of their performance.
Keisha said: ‘We are always super nervous especially when we are going out to perform because we think like is anyone going to show up?

‘But it was really nice. We had the best time. It doesn’t get old for us. We are so grateful.
‘To get the response we have had has been incredible we don’t take it for granted. We got on a plane as soon as we got off the stage and went to Marrakech.’
Their appearance came after it was reported that in fact, the jam-packed crowd all hoping to see the band forced security to shut down entry to a stage at Glastonbury.
The West Holts stage, which has capacity for 35,000 people, had to operate a ‘one in one out’ system to avoid a crush as fans arrived to watch the group.
The English girl group performed at Glastonbury in 2022 on the smaller Avalon Stage which has a capacity of 3,000 – but police restricted entry to the gig to stop more people arriving due to safety concerns.
