Hannah Waddingham has revealed that she used Eastern medicine to fall pregnant at the age of 39 after being told she had ‘no chance’ of conceiving.
After being awarded the Entertainer prize at Glamour’s Women Of The Year awards, the actress, 49, posed for a stunning shoot for the publication in an elegant white dress.
Hannah revealed that after undergoing medical tests she turned to a holistic doctor for help, and he suggested increasing her magnesium and copper levels, along with acupuncture and Reiki.
She said: ‘Because the Western doctor was trying to fill me with chemicals, but the Eastern practitioner was a very kind, positive man who gave me acupuncture and Reiki too – and when I visualise him and the treatment, I remember it being a holistic, warm 360 approach.’
And the methods worked, as just weeks later Hannah fell pregnant with her daughter Kitty, and brought her home from hospital on her 40th birthday.

After welcoming her daughter, Hannah split from her ex Gianluca Cugnetto when Kitty was just two, and she went onto detail the struggles she faced becoming a single mother.
‘It felt like the rug was pulled from underneath me, but I had to make the decision not to be weakened by it,’ she said.
‘I distinctly remember feeling like my daughter and I were on an upturned dustbin lid, like a flying saucer, holding on for dear life – until the waters were calmer!’
Hannah posed for a stunning shoot with Glamour UK as she accepted the Entertainer Award, after earning critical acclaim for her performance in Ted Lasso, and praise from fans for hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in May.
This year’s awards were hosted by comedian Katherine Ryan, her third time fronting the star-studded event.
The awards aim to highlight women who are seen as game-changers in their fields of expertise.
Prior to the ceremony, Glamour unveiled actress America Ferrara as its global honouree and UK Impact Award winner.
Along with her acting career, the Barbie star is the co-founder of two non-profit organisations Harness and Poderistas that work to create social change.
