Strictly’s Thomas Skinner Shares Update on Son Henry’s Surgery and Father’s Hospitalization

Strictly star Thomas Skinner has revealed his family were subject to a series of health woes over the weekend, as he called on September to bring on more ‘joy, happiness, laughter and fun’.

The former Apprentice candidate revealed in a series of X/Twitter posts that his four-year-old son Henry had to undergo surgery, while his father Lee had also been hospitalised.

Alongside a snap of his son in hospital, he penned on Sunday: ‘Whilst my brave little boy Henry undergoes his surgery this morning at hospital with Sinéad. I have taken my girls out for breakfast to keep my mind of worrying.

‘I also dressed them (as you can see I don’t know how to do their hair so it is down today).’

Revealing that his father was also in hospital, he continued: ‘I just wanted to say how amazing all the medical staff are in the UK.

‘I spent all evening up the hospital with my dad who’s unwell at the moment and these guys work night and day and are fantastic.’

Thomas and wife Sinead are also parents to twin daughters Darla and Roma, two.

Last month, Thomas was announced as the 10th celebrity taking part in this year’s Strictly.

His casting proved to be controversial, however, with Strictly fans vowing to boycott the show – because he recently met Donald Trump’s vice-president JD Vance and called him a ‘proper gent’.

However, defiant and ‘excited’ Thomas hit back at the criticism, insisting that the left-wing flak is unfair.

He told the Daily Mail: ‘I’m not right wing. People are like sheep and just started saying it because I got invited to go to bbq with JD Vance and I posted a picture with him.

‘Who is gonna turn down an opportunity to meet the second most powerful man in the world?’, he added.

And in a message for his critics he said: ‘Some people will hate you without ever really knowing you — and that’s okay. I wish them well.

‘We’re all different, and not everyone will see life the same way. If their anger or bitterness has to go somewhere, I’d rather they throw it at me than ruin someone else’s day. I can take it’.

Thomas is a social media star, posting popular videos of his daily breakfasts from an east London cafe as well as his words of encouragement about the rewards of hard work.

He first found fame on The Apprentice in 2019, becoming a breakout star of the series.

He was recently been dubbed Britain’s most influential political figure and has been praised for his open love of England.

He has even been tipped to stand to be Mayor of London after a number of tweets to his 411,000 followers criticising Sir Sadiq Khan and the current state of London.
