Strictly’s Amy Dowden looked stunning in a purple strapless gown as she was the first celebrity to walk the Pride Of Britain red carpet on Monday night. 

She was followed shortly after by GK Barry, who looked incredible in a black lace gown and arrived on the arm of her footballer girlfriend Ella Rutherford.

The annual Pride Of Britain awards are returning for their 26th year with Ashley Banjo and Carol Vorderman set to return as co-hosts for the four year running. 

The awards, hosted at Grosvenor House will be televised on prime time on Thursday October 23 on ITV1 and ITVX at 8pm. 

Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks are on hand to host the red carpet, which is being streamed on YouTube, for their second year, while GK Barry will be presenting online content once again.

Taking place since 1999, the ceremony honours the achievements of truly remarkable people from across the UK and all walks of life – nominated by members of the public.

After a shortlist has been produced from the thousands of entries, winners are chosen by the Pride of Britain judging panel.

Hundreds of the UK’s biggest stars will come together to celebrate the nation’s unsung heroes. 

The star-studded event will see the likes of Cat Deeley, Sam Ryder, Jesy Nelson, Denise Van Outen, Katie Piper OBE, Louise Redknapp, Rob Rinder, Olivia Attwood, Harry Redknapp, Vicky Pattinson, Ben Shephard and Dani Dyer take to the red carpet. 

Speaking ahead of the glitzy evening, Carol said: ‘Every year, our Pride Of Britain winners say something really important about who we are. 

‘At a time when there is so much bad news and division, this year’s winners embody the values that bring us all together – courage, empathy, kindness and compassion. 

‘It is going to be such an honour to get to know them and shine a spotlight on their achievements. I can’t wait to meet them.’

Meanwhile, Ashley added: ‘Meeting Pride of Britain winners is always an unbelievable privilege and this year will be no exception.

‘What they have achieved is incredible in so many different ways, and yet they are always so modest about what they have done. 

‘It’s the best job in the world to be able to shout their names from the rooftops, and show them how much they are appreciated and loved by the whole country.’

PC Yasmin Mechem-Whitfield, PC Cameron King and Inspector Moloy Campbell have won the Outstanding Bravery award. 

The police officers battled to overcome sword attacker, Marcus Arduini Monzo, who had already murdered a teenager, Daniel Anjorin. saving other members of the public in April last year. 

Javeno McLean’s work as a personal trainer who helps transform the lives of disabled, ill and elderly people with free sessions at his specially-equipped gym has been recognised with the P&O Cruises Inspiration Award. 

Picking up the Lifetime Achievement award is humanitarian aid worker Sally Becker  who helped save the lives of children across the globe over an incredible 30- year career.

Football coach, Asha Ali Rage, is receiving the Special Recognition award after he has been harnessing the power of sport to protect young people from gang violence and build bridges in the community. 

The Special Recognition award will go to cancer survivor, Leanne Pero MBE, who uses her own experiences to help others facing challenges, and has founded a groundbreaking charity.

Marcus Skeet is picking up the second Special Recognition award. He is a t eenager known by followers as The Hull Boy has overcome serious mental health challenges to take on inspirational charity feats.

After raising £55,000 for charity, teenage cancer survivor, Georgie Hyslop, will be award the Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser award. 

Zach Eagling is an inspirational schoolboy whose successful campaign changed the law to protect people with epilepsy and will be awarded the Teenager Of Courage gong for his hard work.

Quadruple amputee, Luke Mortimer, who has raised thousands for charities to help other children with disabilities, has won the Child Of Courage award.

Meanwhile, Ups & Downs, who is a theatre group for young people with Down syndrome and their families is awarded with the The Morning Local Heroes.

And the final pre announced winner of the evening is Harry Byrne, who is picking up the King’s Trust Young Achiever award after he overcome loss, addiction and homelessness to become an inspirational mentor and coach helping to give other young people a brighter future.

The ITV Fundraiser Of The Year award will go to someone who will be announced at the awards dinner on October 20. 

Since the first Pride of Britain Awards, Royalty, prime ministers, global icons and huge stars have honoured our winners. 

Some include HRH King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Diana Ross, Sir Paul McCartney,  David Beckham and Taylor Swift.

From pieing celebrities to meeting royalty, there has been many iconic moment to have happened over the years.

Teenager of Courage Moin Younis was left star struck as he got the royal seal of approval in 2017. 

He threw his Aston Villa scarf to fellow fan Prince William, who proudly draped it around his neck.

Young Fundraiser of the Year Cameron Small pied Cheryl Cole in the face to raise £15,000 at the 2010 awards to raise money for Manchester Children’s Hospital. 

And in 2009 flight attendant Carol Miller, who saved a baby’s life at 30,000 feet, was surprised over the tannoy by Peter Kay at Manchester airport.
