Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left ‘absolutely fuming’ over the producer’s decision to ‘bench the ‘most entertaining’ professional.
As the glittering competition made its return to screens on Saturday, viewers shared their frustration when it was revealed Carlos Gu did not have a celebrity partner.
The dancer, 31, joined the show in 2022 and in his first series made the final with EastEnders actress Molly Rainford.
Last year he was partnered with presenter Angela Scanlon, with the pair voted out in week ten.
Venting on X, fans of the show wrote: ‘Can’t help but feel a little bit sad not seeing Carlos with a partner tonight but still so excited for the series, Strictly season is my favourite.’

Others added: ‘They really benched Carlos ???? shut this whole thing down right now’; ‘All I have to say to the producers is how dare you bench Carlos. Don’t ever do that again’; ‘Kinda mad over Carlos not getting paired up this year!’

In January, Carlos shared fears that he might not return to the show after he and celebrity partner Angela Scanlon were voted out during week ten last year.
Speaking to The Mirror, Carlos revealed if he will be returning to the BBC show, which will air later this year.
He said: ‘Fingers cross you know. I hope I will’.
The Saturday night favourite returned to screens this weekend amid a major scandal and a shock NTA win upon its 20th anniversary.
Olympian Tom Dean will be competing with Nadiya Bychkova and pop singer Toyah Willcox will be dancing with Neil Jones, following his return to the series after a three-year absence.
Amy Dowden – who made a triumphant return to the series following her battle with breast cancer – will be dancing with JLS singer JB Gill.

EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick will be hitting the dancefloor with Michelle Tsiakkas , whilst Gladiators star Montell Douglas will be competing with Johannes Radebe.

Luba Mushtuk will be guiding DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles through the process, while hockey champion Sam Quek has been teamed up with Celebrity Big Brother’s Nikita Kuzmin and Chris McCausland with Diane Buswell.
Opera singer Wynne Evans – who is best known to TV audiences for starring in the GoCompare adverts – has been partnered with Katya Jones and completing the lineup is former X Factor winner Shayne Ward and his professional partner Nancy Xu.
