Channel Seven’s new show Stranded On Honeymoon Island has been boldly tipped to be even bigger than Married At First Sight.
The ‘extreme’ reality dating show will see single contestants spend three weeks together on a deserted island with a potential partner in the search for love.
As anticipation builds for its release later this year, it’s been claimed the show, which is made by the same producers as Channel Nine’s MAFS, could be Aussie TV’s next big thing.
According to one insider, the premiere of the new series has been delayed due to the network ‘throwing’ even more money at producing it.
Speaking to Yahoo Australia, the source suggested the extra money was to compete with Channel Nine’s big reality TV hits such as MAFS and The Block.

An insider suggested the producers spent plenty of money to secure Jackie O Henderson (pictured) as the narrator for the show
The insider also suggested the producers splashed out the cash to secure radio icon Jackie O Henderson as the narrator for the show.
They shared: ‘When you get your cheque book out for the highest-paid female radio host in the country you know you have faith in your product.’
A steamy trailer for the upcoming show introduced the twelve single men and woman who hope to find love while deserted on a remote island in the South Pacific.
The video promises an equal mixture of romance and adventure, as the cast work to form romances while fighting the elements.

Another suspenseful moment captured a woman confronting her male companion, asking why he ‘has a relationship on the outside of this’.
‘Are we on Honeymoon Island… or Nightmare Island?’ another cast member asked.
It looks set to be a gripping reality series which combines the romance and drama of Married At First Sight with the adventure and thrills of Australian Survivor.
Seven’s Head of Programming Angus Ross said of the show: ‘We’re taking the reality dating genre to a whole new addictive level.
‘It blends fledging love with the adventure of a lifetime. We have no doubt viewers will lap up every minute of this bold and exciting new format.’

Elsewhere, the show’s narrator Jackie was recently forced to confront a report that she ‘stole’ Ada Nicodemou’s job after her own mother asked her about the rumours.
On The Kyle And Jackie O Show, Jackie said her mother sent her an article from New Idea which claimed she had pinched Ada’s Stranded on Honeymoon Island job.
Jackie insisted of the rumours: ‘I actually don’t even know if they’ve got that story right, to be honest.’
Jackie explained that Ada had introduced a first-look at the series at last year’s Seven ‘Upfronts’ event, which many thought signaled at her involvement on the show.
But Jackie insisted she didn’t believe it was ever promised to Ada, 47, that she would be hosting or narrating the series because of that.

‘Because she presented that, I mean, she’s a Seven personality, they assumed that she would then be hosting that show or narrating that show,’ Jackie said.
‘I don’t think they’ve got the story right at all.’
Co-host Kyle Sandilands, 52, agreed with Jackie, adding that Ada ‘was never even in the running for [the job]’.
A source close to the situation suggested the decision to get Jackie on board might be driven by business strategy.
‘It’s good business sense for Seven to hire Jackie for Honeymoon Island,’ the source explained.
‘Seven bosses likely know that shows like MAFS get a lot of airtime on KIIS airwaves and were smart to secure Kyle for Australian Idol, where he was able to drum up his involvement. Now they’ve got Jackie to ensure Honeymoon Island is hopefully a ratings hit.’
