Rock ‘n’ roll legend Stevie Nicks has followed her ‘friend’ Taylor Swift’s lead in urging her fans to make their voices heard at the ballot this year.
Less than 24 hours after the superstar declared she would be casting her vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election following Tuesday’s debate, the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman, 76, encouraged her followers to make sure they are ‘registered’ and to do their research on the candidates.
‘As my friend @taylorswift so eloquently stated, now is the time to research and choose the candidate that speaks to you and your beliefs,’ she captioned an image of herself holding her adorable dog, Lily, in her arms. ‘Only 54 days left until the election. Make sure you are registered to vote!’
The Phoenix native, who has previously used her platform to remind social media users to vote in midterm elections and to speak out against the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, stressed to her fans that casting their ‘vote in this election may be one of the most important things’ they ‘ever do.’
Nicks cheekily signed off her caption ‘Childless Dog Lady’ — a reference to widely criticized remarks from Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance.

Swift and Nicks’s friendship first began after they performed a duet at the 52nd Grammy Awards together back in 2010.
Swift, who name dropped Nicks on her 2024 track, Clara Bow, off The Tortured Poets Department, previously revealed that she considers the icon her ‘hero’ and someone she ‘can tell any secret.’
The 14-time Grammy winner set social media alight after endorsing Harris and branding herself a ‘childless cat lady.’
After noting that she had watched Tuesday night’s debate between Harris and Trump, the singer explained that she was publicly endorsing Harris to clarify her position after AI-generated images that falsely claimed she had endorsed Trump were spread across the internet.
‘I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,’ she declared.
Swift added that she was supporting Harris ‘because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,’ and she praised her runningmate Walz for ‘standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.’
Although Taylor’s post seemed to be a hit with her fans, it was also well received by fellow celebrities on Instagram who rushed to give it a ‘like.’
Among the stars giving Swift’s post a thumbs up were Jennifer Aniston, Blake Lively, Demi Lovato, Mindy Kaling, Ashley Tisdale, Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend, Lupita Nyong’o, Molly Sims, Kristin Davis and Andy Cohen.

Oprah liked the post, as did Swift’s pals Selena Gomez, Suki Waterhouse and Karlie Kloss.
Other stars sharing their approval included Christie Brinkley, Olivia Wilde, Lili Reinhart, Jennifer Garner, Michelle Pfeiffer, Lady Gaga, Kerry Washington, Mandy Moore, Rachel Zegler, Ellen DeGeneres, Quinta Brunson, Charli XCX, Aubrey Plaza, Lisa Rinna, Katie Holmes and Maren Morris.
Several Swifties who reacted positively to the pop star’s endorsement were of the opinion that it was the final push Harris needed to push her over the finish line.
‘OMG!!’ wrote another excited fan while including a gif of Taylor cheering that read, ‘Let’s go!’ They added the hashtag #TaylorSwiftforHarrisWalz.
Others imagined Swift celebrating after shaking up the campaigns with her endorsement.

One user edited the popular ‘disaster girl’ meme to replace the devious-looking child with Swift as a house was engulfed in flames behind her.
Another person reposted Taylor’s ‘Childless Cat Lady’ line with a clip of a woman screaming with joy as she created a makeshift flamethrower.
Robert Griffin III joked, ‘Oh it’s over. Swifties don’t play.’
Desus Nice joked that ‘we aint seeing kid rock an any tortured poet department rerelease’ in the wake of the endorsement.
One user wrote that the ‘debate was so devastating for Trump that it expedited the Taylor Swift endorsement.’

After noting that she had watched Tuesday night’s debate between Harris and Trump, the singer explained she was supporting Harris ‘because she fights for the rights and causes’ she beleives in, including ‘LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body’

Others alluded to reports that the Trump campaign was dismayed by how JD Vance’s past statements have come to haunt it.
‘trump is going to hang jd vance by his ankles off the top of trump tower,’ joked a poster on X.
Swift’s endorsement appears to have shored up her support from many fans who previously criticized her for continuing her friendship with Brittany Mahomes.
The pop star befriended Mahomes, who is married to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, after she began dating his teammate, tight end Travis Kelce.
Brittany was previously a member of Taylor’s ‘squad’ of famous female friends, but it wasn’t clear if her position was safe after she liked several pro-Trump social media posts, which outraged the Shake It Off singer’s fans.
There were rumors of a rift between the two, particularly after Brittany wasn’t among Taylor’s entourage when the Chiefs played the Ravens earlier this month.

Swift’s followers on social media shared their support in the wake of the endorsement, with several people saying they hoped it would push Harris over the finish line; Harris is pictured with her husband Doug Emhoff at a watch party after the debate on Tuesday
However, a source later told The Sun that the two simply had different plans for that game.
Taylor then indicated that she and Brittany were still pals when they shared an affectionate hug at the Men’s Singles Final match at the US Open on Sunday.
Some Republicans — and even Swifties — had speculated that the songstress might not endorse a candidate after previously endorsing President Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Her renewed embrace of Mahomes fueled the fringe theory, but Tuesday’s post-debate endorsement made it clear that Swift’s politics and values were unchanged.

Swift’s endorsement shored up her support from many fans who previously criticized her for continuing her friendship with apparent Trump supporter Brittany Mahomes. Photos of the two hugging on Sunday at the US Open led to a burst of criticism from Swift’s liberal fans
One X user mocked the idea that she was ‘soft-launch[ing] becoming a Republican’ by simply reposting her forceful endorsement.
Swift’s embrace of Mahomes, coupled with her endorsement, instead suggests she’s able to maintain friendships with conservatives, even as she rejects Donald Trump.
