Stevie Nicks has revealed that she was rushed to hospital in the middle of the night and was seriously ill for two days because of a mystery infection.
The 76-year-old Fleetwood Mac star was forced to cancel a solo headline gig in Glasgow on July 6, just hours before she was due on stage at the city’s OVO Hydro.
Addressing the crowd at the rescheduled show on Wednesday, Stevie explained it was because she had been hospitalised.
She revealed that her butler had had to drive her to the hospital and she spent two days in hospital recovering from a surgery.
In a video from the gig posted on YouTube, she told the audience: ‘When I got here, I was just really so excited to be in Glasgow. And then I don’t know what happened, I just got this weird infection, and it just went crazy.’

The singer explained she had been staying in a ‘fabulous castle’ in Scotland prior to the gig before pulling out of the show last minute.
She told her fans: ‘And I’m staying at this fabulous castle… we get here days early because we want to be here for a few days before [the gig] and I finally just looked at my assistant – it was like two in the morning – and I said, “I think we need to go to emergency [room]”.
‘And she looked at me and I said, “I’m not kidding! I think we need to go to the hospital”.’
Stevie went on to reveal her butler swooped in to save the day and ended up driving her to the hospital in the middle of the night.
She said: ‘And so our butler – this wonderful man, his name was Simian – throws us in his BMW Sedan which was so great and off we sped through the night to a hospital. And I was there for two days .
‘They let me go back to the castle, and we cancelled this show and I’ve been fighting this throughout this whole thing, this whole tour, fighting what started here, and I would be damned if I wasn’t coming back here.’
This revelation comes after Harry Styles made a surprise appearance at Stevie’s set at BST Hyde Park earlier this month.
As well as cancelling her show in Glasgow, Stevie also called off a gig at at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester and the tour changes were put down to a leg issue which required surgery.

A statement previously posted on X explained: ‘Due to a recent leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure that will need a few days of recovery time, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled performances in Glasgow Saturday 6 July and Manchester Tuesday 9 July have been postponed.’
Stevie played the rescheduled Manchester show on July 16.
Stevie has been touring the UK and performing in several venues for the first time in 35 years.
During one of her performances, the music legend brought out Harry Styles for a surprise duet to pay an emotional tribute to late Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie who tragically died in December 2022 after suffering a stroke as she battled against cancer.
For the glitzy event, Harry joined Stevie on stage for a performance of her classic hit Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around and Landslide before she paid tribute to her later friend.
The pop star oozed confidence as he took to the mic in his trademark 70s suit while Stevie was every inch the rocker in all black.
As Harry watched on, an emotional Stevie told the audience: I want you to know that Christine was my girl and she loved all of us and today was her birthday’.
‘All of you have helped me get over [her death] and I want you to know how much I appreciate it’.
Before telling Harry: ‘Harry, I thank you, we thank you!’
Stevie previously revealed the death of Christine put the final nail in the coffin of their legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac following five decades.

The classic line-up – including John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Mick Fleetwood – performed for the final time together during their MusiCares tribute at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan in 2018.
Shortly after, Buckingham was fired and replaced with singer-guitarist Mike Campbell and musician Neil Finn, who joined Fleetwood Mac for their 88-date An Evening with Fleetwood Mac tour in 2018-2019.
‘We had a really great time and it was a huge tour. That was there in the realm of possibility,’ the 75-year-old rock queen told Vulture.
‘But when Christine died, I felt like you can’t replace her. You just can’t. Without her, what is it? You know what I mean? She was like my soul mate, my musical soul mate, and my best friend that I spent more time with than any of my other best friends outside of Fleetwood Mac.’
