Olympic gold medalist Stephanie Rice appears to have found love again months after she shared intimate details about her personal struggles.
The 35-year-old took to Instagram stories ion Thursday to soft launch her new romance as she stepped out in New York with her mystery man.
While Steph kept her partner’s face and identity hidden, she appeared more than happy to snap a photo of the couple holding hands, and share it with her 136,000 followers.
Back in October, Stephanie spoke about her lacklustre love life during an intimate scene with Chief Instructor, Ant Middleton.
‘I think it’d be nice to have somebody to go through the harder times,’ she began.
‘I would love to have somebody to ride the waves with,’ she continued.

Stephanie admitted to not having a lot to look forward to when she left the show.
The pool queen was previously in a relationship with fellow swimmer, Eamonn Sullivan.
Previously she has also been romantically linked to legendary American swimmer Michael Phelps, NRL star David ‘Wolfman’ Williams and swimmer, Nic D’Arcy.
After the episode aired, Stephanie took to social media to reveal it was a challenge watching it back.
‘Don’t feel great today. I always knew it would be challenging to watch that injury happen,’ she said.
Stephanie has been open about her emotional struggles after retirement from professional swimming.

‘Everyone is searching for some purpose in life and ‘what am I here for?’ I think because I didn’t have that, it then brought about [questions of], ‘Who am I? What do I value? What do I stand for?” she said.
She struggled to work out her purpose in life because until that point she had been focused solely on her sporting career.
‘I realised how much of my identity was wrapped up in swimming but also the version of me as this successful swimmer, achiever and all the external gratifications, which everybody loves and needs aspects of, but I realised how low my self-worth was just as a person without any of those external things.’
