Stephanie Davis has shared the sweet meaning behind the name of her baby son, after revealing on Wednesday she’d given birth to her second child.
The Hollyoaks star, 31, who already shares seven-year-old son Caben with ex Jeremy McConnell, welcomed a baby boy named Samuel with her boyfriend Joe McKalory.
In the post announcing the birth of her son, Joe shared that he and Stephanie named her little boy after his late uncle.
She wrote: ‘Welcome to the world my beautiful baby boy Samuel McKalroy.
‘Named after your uncle the one and only who will always weigh heavy on my heart I wish so much that he could’ve met you and cherished you as much as I do.
‘It has been a traumatic experience but you are finally here in our arms. I never thought I could possibly love your mummy anymore than I already do but this is just so special and an unconditional love I cannot explain with words.

‘I love you more than you will ever know.❤️’
Stephanie responded to the post: ‘Sobbing reading this ❤️ my heart ♥️ I love you more than anything in this world. I couldn’t love you more I’m so blessed to have you as a daddy to our boys xxx❤️ you carried me though that, it was so tough ♥️I love you more than you will ever know xxxxxxxx’.
It has not been an easy pregnancy for Stephanie, who revealed in October she had been rushed to hospital after becoming ‘really unwell’ and left struggling to breathe.
She told her Instagram followers in a video: ‘I’ve not been feeling well. I’ve been really short of breath and I’ve had really swollen joints.’
Lifting her hand up to show the camera, she added: ‘I’ve gone a funny colour, they said it could be pregnancy arthritis, it’s killing me.
‘My ankles are swollen and I started getting really short of breath so the doctor sent me to A&E on Friday night. And I was like I can’t sit, it’s torture.’
Stephanie explained that she had been ‘on the verge of tears’, but explained the doctors had given her nebulisers and that she was doing much better.
She said: ‘They ended up giving me some nebulisers to help me breathe, so that helped. And just by the end of it at god knows what time in the morning, we just wanted to get home.

‘I was just like ready for bed, on the verge of tears after sitting on those chairs. I’m struggling a bit again tonight, but I’m okay, I’m fine. I’ve just been a bit stressed I think.’
The mother-of-one added that she had decided to go to A&E out of concern for her unborn child, but admitted that she was exhausted after the late night emergency.
She said: ‘If I wasn’t pregnant I wouldn’t have gone because it’s just a nightmare isn’t it, sitting there.
‘But obviously because of the swollen hands, swollen feet, shortness of breath, pregnant, obviously just wanted to make sure the baby was okay. So we rode it out.’
Stephanie finished her video saying she had got some chocolate and ice cream and was hoping to ‘try and have a nice weekend’ and go out for a walk to get some fresh air.
However, she admitted: ‘I am just so tired. Just been a bit stressful, going to take my time this week and chill.’
The actress revealed she was expecting her second child last August.
Stephanie revealed her fertility journey has been a ‘rollercoaster’ after suffering a devastating miscarriage in 2021.
She explained that she and Joe had been trying to conceive for two years and were even exploring IVF, before falling pregnant naturally.
Stephanie told OK!: ‘I did the pregnancy test at my mother-in-law’s. I could not believe it. I’ve done a million tests over the past two years and videoed them – the one time I didn’t, it was positive!’.
She went on to recall how she and Joe, who she met in a group therapy session in 2021, were left ‘sobbing’ after a scan revealed they were excepting a baby boy.
She recalled: ‘Joe never cries, so when he started that set me off. We were just sobbing on each other. Then the nurse in the room started crying, too.’
She added that Caben is also ready for the role of big brother and is already telling his mum how to sit in a bit not to ‘squash the baby.’
Recalling telling him the news during a family holiday, she said: ‘He was adorable. We took a video, and it’s so cute watching a little seven-year-old process that he’s getting a sibling.
‘He points at me and goes, “Is that why you’ve got a lump in your tummy?” It was just beautiful, the three of us on the beach’.
For her pregnancy announcement she shared a video with Joe sitting on the beach as they handed Caben a bag which had a T-shirt saying ‘big brother’ inside and a picture of her scan

She later shared a video of the heartwarming moment, with her and Joe seen sitting on the beach as they handed Caben a bag which had a T-shirt saying ‘big brother’ inside and a picture of her scan.
The youngster jumped to his feet with excitement and threw sand into the air as he ran around before cosying up to Stephanie to take a look at the scan picture.
Caben then went onto ask: ‘how do you get a baby?’ causing the couple to laugh before he added: ‘So that’s why you have a big lump’.
The actress then looked emotional as her little boy quickly leaned in and kissed her growing baby bump.
Stephanie revealed in 2022 that she and Joe had suffered a miscarriage, three weeks into a previously unannounced pregnancy.
Taking to Instagram with an emotional post, she explained she woke up one morning and ‘didn’t feel pregnant anymore’.
She wrote at the time: ‘I didn’t want to post about this until I was ready, I don’t think I ever will be or anyone is who goes through this but here goes.
‘So as my beautiful followers a lot of you had asked if I was pregnant a while back when I wasn’t on the rides at Southport and you also noticed a lot of things, well you were right, we were having a baby! I was pregnant.
‘We found out from so, so early on it felt like we were pregnant for sooo long. If you remember I came off social media for a while, it was because we had a miscarriage. I was nearly nearly 12 weeks pregnant (3 months).
‘I had sickness from early on (bad, bad sickness lol I was so nauseous and vomiting) and crazy hormones so it felt a long time with our baby.
‘I started getting really bad headaches one night and the next morning I woke up and I said to Joe and my mum and Joe’s mum that I didn’t feel pregnant anymore, they know how I am and thought I was overly worrying and the baby would be fine as on our previous scans the baby’s heartbeat was beating beautifully. But as a mum I guess you just know…’
Stephanie went on to explain that she and Joe were ‘heartbroken’ following the miscarriage, saying she thought everything was ‘ok’ after passing the 12-week mark.
‘The anxiety, the heartbreak and the sadness we have gone through was horrendous. Me and Joe were so excited and already had visioned and planned a life with our family of 4.
‘I was already looking at what I was doing for my baby shower. You think when you get further on like I was that everything will be ok, so it was a big shock.
