Jamie Lee Curtis, John Legend, Questlove and Demi Lovato were among a number of stars thanking Joe Biden for his service and throwing their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic party’s candidate for president.
A-listers shared messages of support after President Biden, 81, announced on Sunday he would not pursue the nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next month.
Curtis, 65 made a series of posts firmly stating her position on big change at the top of the ticket.
Sharing a tender photo of the President walking away from his announcement with and toward an American flag the Oscar winner wrote, ‘GOD BLESS YOU @joebidenfor your LEADERSHIP, GRACE UNDER PRESSURE, STRENGTH and RESILIENCE! Your country THANKS YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!’
She then posted two other endorsements next to photos of Vice President Harris, 59, penning next to an official photo, ‘I support wholeheartedly @joebiden and his decision to step down and to endorse unreservedly @kamalaharris.’

Writing next to an artistic rendering of the first female Vice President, Curtis wrote a simple ‘LFG @kamalaharris.’
John Legend 45, shared his thoughts across social media platforms writing, ‘Joe Biden has presided over the most consequential first term of my lifetime.’
The Grammy winner went on to list what he thought were some of the President’s most important accomplishments.
‘He helped us to have the most robust recovery from the pandemic of any nation in the world, invested in our infrastructure and made by far the largest investment in fighting climate change our nation has ever seen. He relieved burden some college debt for so many. Unemployment, inflation and crime are all down dramatically from the highs caused by the pandemic.’
Legend then thanked Biden for her service and threw his support to Harris and promising to help the campaign.
‘With this record, he more than earned reelection, but time and age come for us all. I am grateful for the grace and patriotism he has shown by choosing to step aside for the sake of the country.’
‘I’m so ready to work to help unite the pro democracy coalition to reject Trump’s authoritarian, oppressive Project 2025 and elect Kamala Harris as our president. She’s ready for this fight and I’m excited to help her in anyway I can.’

President Biden’s historic decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential race leaves Democrats scrambling to replace him with less than four months to go before Election Day.
What follows will be an unprecedented chain of events with Kamala Harris the clear favorite but by no means certain to become the party’s nominee.
The Democratic National Convention runs from August 19 to 22 in Chicago and Biden had been expected to formally accept the nomination there, having received 3,896 delegates during the party’s primary contest earlier this year.
More than 4,600 delegates and thousands of other party officials will now head to the city with the identity of the party’s standard bearer up in the air.
