Also in attendance was the film’s director Thom Zimmy and producer Jon Landau, who joined Bruce and Steve for photos.
The documentary will give an isight into the band’s time on the road between 2023 and 2024, featuring rare rehearsal and backstage footage.
A synopsis reads: ‘Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band opens a new door to Springsteen’s creative process for fans around the world, sharing fly-on-the-wall footage of band rehearsals and special moments backstage — as well as hearing from Springsteen himself.
‘These conversations follow Springsteen closely as he develops the story he wants to tell with this tour’s setlist — interspersed with rare archival clips of The E Street Band, underscoring themes of life, loss, mortality and community.
‘In this way, it serves as an essential and never-before-seen chapter in an autobiographical series spanning Springsteen’s memoir Born to Run, Springsteen on Broadway, and the films Western Stars and Letter to You.’
The E Street Band includes guitarists Steven Van Zandt, Nils Lofgren, and Patti Scialfa (Bruce’s wife), keyboardists Danny Federici and Roy Bittan, bassist Garry Tallent, drummer Max Weinberg and saxophonist Clarence Clemons.
Speaking about the documentary, Bruce said: ‘I wanted to sit with the band and think about this. I could only make this now. I needed these experiences of the 24 years including Springsteen on Broadway.
‘I regret being so superstitious about not filming the first iteration of the band, so I decided to film the rest of the 24 years.’

Bruce added: ‘The key is you have to look into the audience and find yourself. I look into the audience every night and can find myself in any individual.
‘It could be a kid or anyone, the audience has to recognise themselves in you too. It’s a deep experience and connection that we’ve had with our fans for 50, 60 years…The night you look out and you don’t recognise yourself, it’s the night you go home.’
Stevie said: ‘It’s all about mortality but we balanced that with vitality. We are not going out quietly. We brought a hurricane!
‘The moment in the middle Thom Zimny [the director] captured so perfectly. It hits you in the face and we bring this every time…we want people to leave with more energy than they came with.’
He added about the band: ‘This was a complete artistic adventure right from the beginning.’
Bruce concluded: ‘If you get the art right, the music right and the band right, you go out and play every night like it’s your last night on earth. That was the serial philosophy of the band and we’re sticking to it.’
It comes after Bruce said his wife Patti is ‘doing good’ amid her rare blood cancer battle.
The Born in the U.S.A. singer — who’s wife was diagnosed in 2018 — shared an update on Patti’s, 71, condition and advocated for early cancer detection in an ad for an ABC special on his upcoming documentary.
‘She’s doing good, we caught it early, which was important,’ the singer said on Tuesday, ‘It’s a tough disease, it’s very fatiguing.’
Patti, who plays guitar in her husband’s E Street Band, was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer called multiple myeloma back in 2018 and stepped back from touring as she faced the health crisis in private.
Last month, she got candid about the disease while at the premiere of Bruce’s documentary at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada.
Speaking about her decision to scale back her stage commitments, Patti explained: ‘I’ve been performing with this band for 40 years. With those first performances, it felt so good to be back onstage.
‘Touring has become a challenge for me. In 2018, well, Bruce and I were doing a play on Broadway. I was diagnosed with early stage multiple myeloma.’
She went on to reveal she tries to come to a show every so often but she’s no longer a regular on stage.
Speaking about the documentary, Bruce said: ‘I could only make this now. I needed these experiences of the 24 years. I regret being so superstitious about not filming the first iteration’

The guitarist added: ‘This affects my immune system so I just have to be careful what I choose to do and where I choose to go.
‘Every once in a while, I come to a show or two and I can sing a few songs onstage, and that’s been a treat. That’s the new normal for me right now, and I’m OK with that.’
The documentary marks the first time Patti has spoken publicly about her cancer diagnosis.
She has been married to Bruce since 1991. They share three children together: Evan, 34, Jessica, 32, and Samuel, 30.
