Joan, who was married to professional thief Boisie Hannington, was introduced to a life of crime and the pair became Britain’s most successful diamond thieves.
Millions of pounds passed through their hands and the new series has been described as a ‘rags-to-riches rollercoaster’.
Back in November, it was announced that Sophie is set to star as Joan – one of the most notorious figures in the London’s criminal underworld.
In a statement at the time, Sophie said she’s ‘so excited’ to bring the ‘fascinating’ story of Joan – known as ‘The Godmother – to life.

‘She is one of the most notorious figures in the criminal underworld of London, earning her the nickname ”The Godmother”.
‘A woman who goes between her thriving and daring career as a jewel thief, all whilst trying to get her daughter back from social services, we see a mother in despair swept up in the exhilarating world of crime,’ she added.

Sophie’s latest sightings comes just one week after she and estranged husband Joe agreed to have two weeks at a time with their daughters until January.
They will also be allowed to travel to anywhere in the US and the UK, meaning that Turner can bring the girls to England, which she claims will be their ‘forever home.’
While Jonas will get to take the girls on tour with his band The Jonas Brothers, Turner will get to spend Christmas with them in the UK with her family.
The agreement came after four days of intense mediation in New York, where the girls are currently staying with Turner. The resolution of custody of the children is expected to clear to way to finalizing the couple’s divorce.
The court filing from Turner’s lawyer Stephen Cullen called the mediation ‘ongoing and productive’ and that the custody sharing comes ‘in anticipation of an amicable resolution of all issues’.
Cullen appears to have made good on his promise to ‘bring down the mercury’ made during a court hearing in New York earlier this month.
Jonas filed for divorce in Miami on September 1 with sources close to him claiming that Turner had been out partying too much, leaving him alone to look after their daughters.
Turner fired back accusing Jonas of refusing to hand over the girls’ passports so they could return to England with her.
She cited an international child abduction law as grounds for the children being with her.
The split has sparked court proceedings in Miami, the UK and New York, which is where the child custody issue is being handled.
The court filing in New York states that both sides are engaged in mediation in the UK and the US.
Under the previous interim consent order, the girls had to stay in New York.
The second interim consent order, which both sides requested that a judge approve, states that both sides have agreed that the girls will be with Turner from October 9 to 21.
Turner may ‘temporarily travel’ with them to anywhere in the US or the UK but must return them to New York on the October 21 where they will be ‘transferred’ to Jonas.
The handover must take place at a time and location suitable to both parties, the filing states.
Jonas will be with the children until November 2 when he or their nanny will bring them back to New York.
He will be able to travel anywhere in the US, meaning that the girls will be able to accompany him on his US tour with the Jonas brothers.
During those dates the group is scheduled to play in Austin, Texas; San Diego, California, and Anaheim, California.
On November 2 they are set to play in Fresno, California, which may explain why their nanny could return them to New York for the handover.
The document states that Turner will have the children for the following two weeks until November 22 and Jonas will have them for the next two weeks until December 16 under the same conditions.
Turner will get to spend Christmas with her daughters as she will be with them from December 16 until January 7, at which point she will have to return them to New York.

A trial to resolve the custody matters is scheduled for January 2.
Previous legal filings have detailed how the couple’s three year marriage rapidly broke up in August after Jonas reportedly saw Turner insulting him on their Ring camera.
He filed for divorce two weeks later claiming their relationship was ‘irretrievably broken’.
But Turner responded with the lawsuit in New York.
In court papers she claimed that the couple sold their home in Miami in March and that they bought a $9million home near Oxford in the UK which they meant as their ‘forever home’.
Turner went further in legal filings in Miami where she included a letter Jonas wrote to the seller of the property that showed him gushing about the prospect of living there.
