Sonia Kruger has recalled one of the most embarrassing experiences of her presenting career.
In a candid column for Stellar, the Channel Seven host, 58, recalled the moment she found herself sitting in pop star Boy George’s lap after a misstep on the set of The Voice Australia.
‘It’s like a thousand people gasped as my life flashed before my eyes,’ Kruger said of the mortifying incident.
While Sonia was doing her usual walk-and-talk segment, she tripped over a speaker box and fell over.
Time seemed to slow as she was hurled through the air, much to the shock of the audience, and potentially revealing more than intended in her short outfit.

‘Here’s the thing: embarrassing stuff happens to all of us … all the time. In the moment, we can’t conceive of a future where we will one day laugh at ourselves and those minutes of misfortune,’ she said.
The audience’s gasp turned to relief and laughter as she quickly cut to a commercial break.

But that’s not the only time Sonia found herself in an embarrassing bind.
Recalling a morning walk through a five-star hotel lobby after a late-night shoot, she noticed an unusual amount of attention directed her way.
With no hair and makeup done, she felt out of place but continued, only to find out from her laughing colleagues that she had been parading around with a strip of hair extensions hanging from her handbag.
‘It was like a fringe feature on a tote, except in this instance it looked more like a purse merkin,’ she joked.
