Sofia Vergara is making fun of getting older. The Emmy-nominated Griselda actress looks like she is in her early forties but she is actually 52.
The Hollywood siren from Colombia told Variety on Wednesday that she feels the pains of age.
The mother-of-one said she had to get a new bionic knee three months ago due to ‘old age and s***.’
In the same interview, the Modern Family veteran remarked that she is starting to forget things as well.
‘I’m going through pre-menopause; I can’t remember where my glasses are,’ the brunette bombshell told the site.

Vergara added that she now feels the demands of work much more: when she was on Modern Family in her late 30s and early 40s, it was easier for her to take it all in.
But on Griselda – when she was in her 50s – she found it more difficult.
Sofia quipped to Variety that if she can’t remember where she put her glasses, how was she going to memorize her lines for Griselda? ‘And now I have to learn all these monologues?’ she complained about being on the set of the Netflix hit show.
All the hard work has paid off, though.
Griselda spent six consecutive weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 after being released in January.
And Vergara has been Emmy nominated in the limited series lead actress category, alongside Academy Award winners Jodie Foster and Brie Larson.
Vergara also revealed she used Jennifer Aniston’s acting coach to get into character.
‘I’m like, OK, who is a comedic actress that did good in a drama?’ she remembers thinking of Jennifer Aniston.
She met with Jen’s acting coach Nancy Banks.
‘Nancy said, “If you want to cry, you just have to think of something.” And I did have a lot of horrible things to think about,’ Vergara said.

The role made it hard for her to sleep.
‘I was anxious. Nancy told me, “You’re killing, you’re screaming, crying — everything — during the day. You go home and your body doesn’t know that you weren’t doing those things for real, feeling those things,”‘ Vergara added.
‘So I had to start taking a little bit of Xanax at night to calm down. I was not prepared for that. I didn’t know. That’s why actors go crazy! How do they do that for years?’
She also admitted to Variety that she was taken aback by ex Joe Manganiello’s recent remarks about what what led to the downfall of their eight-year marriage.
Following the 47-year-old True Blood star’s denial that his desire to have kids played a factor in their decision to part ways, the star revealed the key to her happiness is not overthinking.
‘When you sit too much with your thoughts, that’s when people get depressed and people get paralyzed. I always keep active,’ she told Variety. ‘What the f**k can we do? Nothing. We have to keep living.’
Her philosophy of not thinking ‘too much’ about a situation is the approach she is taking when it comes to Manganiello publicly refuting the reason they split.
Although she had previously stated that their relationship ended because she didn’t want to be an ‘older’ mom, Manganiello claimed that was ‘simply not true’ last month.
In the same interview, the Modern Family veteran remarked that she is starting to forget things as well. ‘I’m going through pre-menopause; I can’t remember where my glasses are,’ the brunette bombshell told the site
‘At the end of the day, you never even know if that’s what he said for real,’ Vergara said. ‘I’ve read a lot of things that I’ve said that I’m like, ‘Huh?’ What am I gonna do, call him?’
Before changing the topic, the mother-of-one said she doesn’t ‘know if he even said that.’
Vergara was referring to Manganiello’s interview with Men’s Journal, in which he broke his silence over what led to them to them divorcing.
‘There’s been a lot said in the press about me wanting a family. That’s simply not true,’ he told the publication. ‘We did try to have a family for the first year and a half.’
The Magic Mike actor also revealed that they ‘had a huge conversation right out of the gate during the first month’ they dated, in which he claims to have told her: ‘If you’re done with kids, then I understand. Just tell me, and I’ll know what this is, and that’s OK. But that wasn’t the case with her.’
‘I swore to her that I would never leave if it didn’t work out. And I didn’t,’ Manganiello insisted.
While he does hope to start a family someday, the performer set the record straight that disagreeing over children ‘wasn’t inevitably why everything ended.’
‘It’s because two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens,’ he explained.

Following their separation, Vergara began dating Justin Saliman, an orthopedic surgeon
Manganiello went on to express frustration over Vergara’s previous remarks that their ‘marriage broke up’ because her husband ‘was younger’ and ‘wanted to have kids.’
‘To be painted as if I had some sort of midlife crisis, and after nine years, turned to somebody and gave them an ultimatum of, ‘Do this potentially unhealthy thing to your body, or else I’m gone?’ That’s never who I was,’ Pittsburgh stated.
In January 2024, Vergara told the Spanish publication El País that she and Manganiello called it quits because he wanted kids and she did not.
‘I didn’t want to be an old mom,’ she said. ‘I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore.’
She continued: ‘I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children.’
