Sofia Vergara has revealed she had to hide her curves in order to play drug lord Griselda Blanco in upcoming Netlfix series Griselda.
The Colombian actress, 51, made the revelation during a glamorous appearance on The Graham Norton Show, which airs on Friday.
Sophia also said that while portraying the notorious drug dealer, known as the Cocaine Godmother, she was forced to undergo hours of make-up.
‘The hardest thing was that I had to wear a wig, fake teeth, fake nose, and have a plastic forehead. I also had to wear uncomfortable bras that pushed me down to make me look less Latin’.
Adding: ‘It was a complicated character for me, but it was my first film in Spanish which was so liberating.’

Speaking about the character Sofia admitted she first had the idea for the series almost 15 years ago.
‘It is a true story of a woman that no one ever suspected of being one of the biggest drug dealers that ever existed’.
‘She created an insane cartel, and I went crazy for the story. She was Colombian, an immigrant, and a very tough ruthless woman. She was a monster. It was the role for me!’.
The stunner, who is known for her iconic accent, also shared the pressure she felt to lose it in order to make it in Hollywood.
‘I thought it would not be that hard, that I could do some classes and have any role I wanted. That was not the case – I spent a lot of money and a lot of hours trying and it would get worse. I would go to auditions, and it was horrific.’
Sofia was joined on the BBC chat show by Kevin Hart, Jodie Comer, Alan Cummings as well as singer Tom Odell.
American actor Kevin, 44, spoke about surviving a real-life plane crash in 2019, while promoting new movie life which is set on a flight.
Saying: ‘I almost died. We were landing and as we did the front wheel broke, and I just saw flames coming out of the front of the plane’.

‘It was one of those moments when I thought, ‘This is it’ and I realised that if it happens I was cool with where I was in life. I didn’t panic.’
Elsewhere Jodie, 30, shared details about her new survival drama The End We Start From, which she described as a story about ‘first year of parenthood set in the middle of a climate crisis’.
Asked about acting with a baby as her co-star she said: ‘We had 15 real babies in the film and the director gave me a baby doll to take home so I could understand the physicality of it. It was like baby bootcamp.’
Finally Alan, 58, discussed his role as host of the American version of smash hit series The Traitors.
‘The castle is the same and the missions are mostly the same, but I pretend it’s my castle and the people are all reality stars rather than civilians’.
Before adding: ‘It is a shock to their systems as they have never been to Scotland, and they are in a rural bubble outside Inverness, so they freak out a little bit.’
Sofia’s new show Griselda is from the makers of the smash hit series Narcos and Narcos: Mexico, and in the new clip, one of the characters from those series is seen: Colombian drug lord Hélmer Herrera, played by Alberto Ammann.

Grisela is considered one of the most profitable cartels in history.
The career criminal, who was only five feet tall, was involved with pickpocketing and prostitution from a young age – but it didn’t take long before her crimes began to escalate.
Having been plunged into the cocaine industry by her second husband, who she later killed, Griselda built a thriving drugs empire that saw her earning more than $80 million every month.
She embraced her criminal persona – her nicknames were The Black Widow, The Godmother of Cocaine and The Boss – and was not afraid to flaunt her ill-gotten gains.
But things began to unravel after she was incarcerated as authorities sought to press charges against the devoted mother for more than 200 murders.
Griselda went on to serve 10 years behind bars before being deported back to Colombia where she was shot and killed aged 69 as she stepped out of a butcher’s shop.
She still ranks among the most notorious drug lords in history and has been a central figure in documentaries such Cocaine Cowboys (2006) and Cocaine Cowboys 2: Hustlin’ with the Godmother (2008) – as well as film The Cocaine Godmother (2017) starring Catherine Zeta Jones.
