The icon also played piano as Russell Crowe did a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s Take This Waltz, while Will Smith did a spoken word rendition of You’ll Never Alone.

While Johnny Depp also joined Andrea for a moving performance in tribute to the actor’s late friend and collaborator Jeff Beck.

Dove Cameron, Yara Shahidi, and Sofia Carson brought their fashion A-game while attending The Cameron Boyce Foundation’s 3rd Annual Cam For A Cause Gala, held at The Beehive in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Dove, 28, was the belle of the ball in a stunning polka dot tulle gown with a princess bottom. The stylish dress was cinched at the waist with a black belt.

Grown-ish star Yara, 24, was the picture of elegance in a silver silk gown and matching cropped jacket. Her dress featured a lavender floral motif.

Dove’s Descendants co-stars Sofía, 31, showed off impeccable style in a unique white floor-length feather gown. Her raven tresses added contrast to the look as they cascaded down her back.

The Cam For A Cause Gala is a fundraising event that raises awareness for epilepsy and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). It was founded in 2019 to honor the late actor Cameron Boyce, who passed away from SUDEP at the age of 20.

Dove was joined by her Italian rocker boyfriend Damiano David, 25.

The handsome Måneskin lead singer showed off his cool style in a brown leather jacket worn over a white button-up and blue tie, and wide-leg vintage inspired pants.

Whoopi Goldberg Gets Emotional During Interview with Teen Fighting Brain Tumor Disorder, Fulfilling Her Wish to Meet Sofia Carson

The View fans have been left ‘teary-eyed’ as they witnessed a ‘rare’ display of emotion from host Whoopi Goldberg as she interviewed a teenage girl battling a rare brain tumor disorder.

As part of Brain Tumor Awareness Month, Whoopi, 68, and her cohost, Sara Haines, invited Mya Jackson, 15, onto Thursday’s show, with her mom, Tanya, and surprised the brave teen with a meet and greet with her favorite singer, Sofia Carson.

In very emotional scenes, Mya – who was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) at the age of six – was seen hugging Sofia, 31, as Whoopi helped mother-of-three Sara wipe away tears using a tissue – but even the Sister Act star failed to hold it together and struggled to get her words out towards the end of the segment.

As she tried to plug the Make A Wish foundation, who had made Mya’s dream come true, Whoopi had to pause and compose herself as she fought back tears with her voice breaking – and fans were shocked to see her this way.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person wrote: ‘WOW you very rarely see Whoopi get emotional,’ and another posted: ‘Please #Whoopi hold it together… I feel you sista.. I’m a mess too….’

A third person admitted: ‘Get’n a lil’ teary-eyed at Mya’s story,’ and a fourth viewer added: ‘I can’t with this segment.. I can’t right now.. I’m a 51 year old man.. and I’m in major total meltdown over this story….’

Someone else posted: ‘Wow! What a tearjerker of an episode! Mya has such a beautiful spirit. Her parents raised a lively young lady and must be so proud. Thanks to @Disney and #TheView for making Mya’s wish come true.’

Revealing why she didn’t hesitate to meet Mya, Sofia explained to Whoopi: ‘I think there are few more important things in the world than the privilege to be able to make Mya smile.’

Sofia then turned to Mya and said: ‘To be able to be your wish is one of the greatest honors of my life and you are my hero and everyone here’s hero,’ before confirming that Disney’s design team will be making a custom-made costume of Sofia’s Descendants character Evie for Mya.

Whoopi then said: ‘Mya and Tanya, thank you for joining us today. Sofia, you are the queen we always knew you were and thank you for making this come true for Mya today.’

The Oscar winner then struggled to get her words out as she paused and took a couple of deep breathes before informing viewers: ‘For more information on the magic… of making wishes come true… head to wish.org/disney.’

Earlier on in the segment, Tanya confirmed that her daughter – who was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis after undergoing eye surgery – was doing as ‘well as can be.’

‘We can only take it day by day with the disease. We’re hoping to in the next two months be back in Boston for her fourth brain surgery, and we’re going to continue to do chemo, 89 chemo treatments and go from there,’ Tanya added.

When Sara asked Mya what she wants people to know about her, the brave teenager – who has fully lost her hearing due to the disorder – replied: ‘I want people to know and understand that I’m just like any other 15-year-old, boy or girl.

‘That I love to color, I love to dance, I love to play with my dogs. And I love to wear the Descendants costumes,’ before admitting that she loves Sofia because ‘she’s always happy’.

NF2 causes tumors to grow on nerves, but many of them grow in the brain and spine, and Mya had her first tumor removed when she was six.

During a pre-recorded interview, Mya’s father Craig described it as a ‘complex disease,’ while Tanya admitted that the ‘hardest part’ was seeing how her daughter had ‘isolated herself’ due to her illness.
