X, the company formerly known as Twitter, has signed a special revenue sharing deal with Paris Hilton.

The first-of-its-kind deal is centred around live shopping and other exclusive content, including a custom hashtag for a famous Hilton word.

An agreement has been struck between X and Paris’ media company, 11:11, with the social media platform describing the two-year financial arrangement as ‘attractive’ for both parties.

It comes as Linda Yaccarino, who joined the platform as chief executive in June, attempts to revive the platform’s fortunes.

In a statement, Paris, who has 16.6mn followers on X, said: ‘Together, we’re going to be exploring new ways to connect with all of you across video, live video, live shopping, and even Spaces. And we’re just getting started. Loves it.’

Paris appeared to be most excited about her new hashtag for a word she’s been trying to popularize since at least 2019: ‘sliving.’

A combination of the words ‘slaying’ and ‘living,’ sliving is supposed to be Paris’ new ‘that’s hot,’ her catchphrase that was inescapable in the early 2000s

The company has said the American socialite will work with X to create four original video programmes per year including for its nascent live shopping space.

After the news broke, Linda wrote: ‘The queen of pop culture, music, business, and TV is #Sliving on X. @ParisHilton welcome to the @X family, we’re excited to launch an official partnership with you and your next-gen media company 11:11.

‘Together we’re going to create a launchpad for new initiatives in video and live video, live commerce, Spaces, and so much more. Let’s do this!!’

The desired partnerships are part of her strategy to boost audiences, sell more advertising, and facilitate sponsorship and brand deals between advertisers and creators.

Revenues were down by 60 per cent in the US Musk said last month, although he did not specify a timeframe.

Paris, who is an heiress to the Hilton family fortune, is reported to have an estimated net worth of $300million (£248m).

She has made her own cash in a number of ways since launching to global fame in 2003’s The Simple Life.

It comes after Elon Musk officially rebranded Twitter and ditched its bird for the name and logo X in June – in the latest controversial shake up of the social media company under his ownership.

Tweeting a picture of the company’s new logo – a white X on a black background – late Sunday night, Twitter’s new chief executive Linda said: ‘X is here! Let’s do this.’

The company’s new logo was then seen projected on its downtown San Francisco headquarters. By Monday morning, the platform’s users could see its new look and name.

X will be ‘powered by AI’ and will ‘connect us in ways we’re just beginning to imagine,’ Yaccarino tweeted. The new changes are a step closer to Musk’s previously stated idea for an ‘everything app’ that would combine social media, instant messaging, banking, and other ventures.

Musk has since changed his profile picture to the company’s new logo, which he described as ‘minimalist art deco,’ and his Twitter bio to ‘X.com,’ which now redirects to twitter.com.
