SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert’s behind-the-scenes moments with A-list celebrity guests that didn’t make it on TV

Viewers watched as artists such as Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny and Cher took the stage during the SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert on Friday, but what they didn’t see were some shocking behind-the-scenes moments with A-list stars.

Hundreds of celebrities were packed inside New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, which had a ton of security guards around the iconic venue and gates to block fans and those without tickets from entering.

DailyMail.com was given exclusive access inside the star-studded affair.

It was a date night for many celeb couples, including Jason Momoa and his girlfriend Adria Arjona, Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry, Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin, Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer, John Mulaney and Olivia Munn, Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae, Jerry Seinfeld and Jessica Seinfeld, and Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy as well as Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

Robert De Niro was also there with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen on Valentine’s Day and he remained low key, sitting in the last row of an orchestra section as he kept on his black beanie and winter coat.

De Niro, 81, and Chen, 45, were caught having fun and dancing along to the performers as the martial arts instructor wrapped her arms around the actor in an embrace at one point.

Other notable celebrities who did not appear on the telecast included Ryan Phillippe, who attended with his and Reese Witherspoon’s son Deacon, Sacha Baron Cohen – who is in the midst of a nasty divorce from Isla Fisher – and Ice Spice, who was accompanied by two male companions, days after attending the Super Bowl with her pal Taylor Swift.

Also, Only Murders in the Building stars Martin Short and Steve Martin were in attendance, but missed their co-star Selena Gomez, who had other Valentine’s Day plans with her fiancé Benny Blanco.

Miley Cyrus got a little annoyed people weren’t standing up during her performance and even made a remark during the live concert.

Her mom, Tish Cyrus, was the only one standing up in the beginning.

Miley told the audience, ‘Are y’all doing that Grammys thing where you guys are famous and sh*t and don’t sing along? Excuse my language.’

That then prompted Adam Sandler, who was there with his wife Jackie and kids, to stand up, which caught the attention of Miley on stage.

She gave him a shoutout and after the comedian stood up, many others copied and stood up as well to cheer her on.

Shortly after Miley’s performance, Tish and her husband Dominic Purcell, rushed out of their seats to go backstage to be reunited with Miley.

Adam Sandler, in fact, appeared to be dancing the most among the star-studded crowd and was in a really upbeat mood – as well as Tiffany Haddish, who stood up a lot to dance for various artists.

He said hi to Post Malone during a commercial break and shook his hand.

Also caught dancing away from cameras was Jon Hamm, who danced to a band that was performing by the concession stands outside the theater doors.

He was heading
to get food and was holding his wife Anna Osceola’s hand when he started an impromptu dance to a musical band.

The concession stands and bar was where a lot of celebrities ran into each other and took a few minutes to chat in-between performances and commercial breaks.

Rob Riggle spent majority of the three-hour show at the concession stand socializing with his friends.

At one point in the evening, former friends James Franco and Seth Rogen almost had an awkward run-in with each other.

In the opposite aisle, A-list couple Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were also talking to their friends and took awhile to get out of the theatre.
