Her fathers are Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka. Harper also has a twin brother named Gideon Scott.
Harris was on the successful sitcom How I Met Your Mother from 2005 until 2014. He starred in Gone Girl with Affleck and A Million Ways To Die In The West with Theron. Harris played The Analyst, the main antagonist, in The Matrix Resurrections opposite Reeves.Â
The children were born via surrogate on October 12, 2010.Â
The twins tend to keep a much lower profile than their famous parents, Harris and Burtka, but once in a while they hit the red carpet.
On Tuesday evening Burtka took his teen daughter to the Wicked: For Good! premiere held at the David Geffen Hall in New York City.
She wore a mint green sequined dress with a black coat and her blonde hair down as dad modeled a gunmetal gray sequined blazer over a crisp white shirt.Â
In August 2010, the actor revealed the news of his twins’ impending arrival at the time via Twitter, now known as X.
‘So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled,’ he had written on Twitter.

Two months later, Neil announced the birth of their children.
‘All of us are happy, healthy, tired and a little pukey. Harper has been fussy but Gideon is the easiest baby in the world. They’re just now starting to recognize us and smile.’
Neil and David met in passing on the street, and went on their first date in April 2004.
The lovebirds announced their engagement in June 2011 after the Marriage Equality Act was passed in 2011 legalizing same same-sex marriage in New York City, revealing that they have been engaged since 2007.
David proposed to Neil at the street corner they had met in 2007, with Neil proposing to him as well in 2008 on Valentine’s Day.
They tied the knot in Italy on September 6, 2014.Â
In April 2024, Neil and David celebrated their 20th anniversary of their first date.Â
