Christine Brown has admitted that she and ex-husband Kody Brown are blood relatives.
Four years after divorcing 56-year-old Kody, Christine, 53, made the admission to her new husband David Woolley on Sunday’s Sister Wives episode.
‘I’m related to Kody. I knew growing up that I would have to marry a convert because I was literally related to everybody in the church,’ she explained.
However, she added, ‘I did marry a convert, but I was still related to him too.’
‘That’s not cool,’ David replied before his wife reminded him, ‘Third cousins once removed is fully legal. Fully.’
Kody and Christine are parents to Aspyn Thomas, Mykelti Padron, Paedon Brown, Gwendlyn Queiroz, Ysabel Brown and Truely Brown.

Janelle Brown, Christine’s former sister wife and close friend, defended her marriage to Kody despite their blood relation.
‘There was always this joke about [how] they were cousins, but they are so distantly related it’s ridiculous,’ she shared on the episode.Â
And she added, ‘I think in polygamist families, this kind of stuff happens all the time.’
Janelle also noted, ‘It wasn’t the kind of relationship where you saw each other at the family reunion — it was a very distant relationship.Â
‘But they would always joke about being cousins. It just is a small community.’
Christine went public with now-husband David via social media in February 2023.
It came after she and Kody separated in November 2021 after more than 25 years together.
The mom-of-six rebounded with David, whom she met on a dating app, and they tied the knot in October 2023.

In September Christine published a memoir called Sister Wife
After they married, she gushed, ‘I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I absolutely love monogamy — I was made for it.’
In addition to his split from Christine, Kody also lost his second wife Janelle and first wife Meri Brown.
Janelle separated from Kody in December 2022, while he and Meri have been legally divorced since 2014.
Kody ‘spiritually married’ Christine in 1994.
She announced in late 2021 that she had ‘made the difficult decision to leave’ the marriage.
On Twitter, Kody said, ‘Christine’s decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness.’
In total, the TLC personality has 18 children across his four marriages.Â
