Simon Cowell hailed magician Jack Rhodes a ‘one in a million’ as he slated him the favourite to win Britain’s Got Talent during the second semi-final.

Tuesday’s live show saw Jack take to the stage along with Ravi’s Dream Team, Genevieve Cote, Lady Grenades, Matteo Fraziano, Ace Clvrk, Blitzers and Haribow.

Jack’s magic act saw him disappear from an exploding wooden box and reappear through a TV, breaking its glass.

The magician was the winner of the semi-final, sailing through to Sunday’s final after getting the most votes from the public – but it was something Simon had predicted earlier in the night.

After Jack’s performance, Simon said: ‘I think you, right now, are the favourite to win the entire competition – it was that good. You really are one in a million. That was jaw-dropping.’

‘No pressure eh?’Ant and Dec asked Jack after the comment, to which he replied: ‘My head’s gone.

‘I’m used to making videos in my garage. I’m a weird hermit crab. I’m not used to this at all.’

Later in the show it was announced that Jack was the act to receive the most votes and would be through to the final, to which he had a surprising reaction.

Clearly stunned, Jack said very few words upon his name being called out before adding: ‘That’s good.’

Ant and Dec later brought him back on stage after it was announced that Haribow would be the second act through, and Jack admitted his head had ‘popped’.

It opened with a performance from the West End cast of Frozen, before Ant and Dec approached judges Simon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli.

‘Simon first of all, have you been for a wee before the show?’ Ant asked. ‘You didn’t quite make it back in time last night, did you?’

A very re-faced Simon burst out laughing, before replying: ‘Yeah thanks for pointing that out, twice.’

‘You okay now?’ Ant asked, before Simon added: ‘Yeah I’m fine it won’t happen again.’
