Joel Creasey will not be moving to Sydney Breakfast Radio just yet, despite months of speculation.
The Nova star – who has co-hosted the Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel show since 2020 – has been at the centre of rumours claiming he’d be moving to the morning time slot to challenge Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O’s reign of the airwaves.
For over six months, Aussie radio legend Craig Bruce has fuelled the chatter that the 35-year-old is eyeing up the upgrade from National Drive on his Game Changers Radio podcast, which he co-hosts alongside Irene Hulme.
However, it appears the speculation was nothing more than talk.
Daily Mail can exclusively reveal the rumours were ‘a storm in a teacup’, according to a well-placed insider.
A Nova source confirmed that there has been no discussion, negotiations or plans to transfer Joel Creasey over to breakfast radio.

‘It’s just a rumour. Nothing is happening,’ one senior network insider revealed.
‘Joel isn’t relocating to Sydney, and he isn’t being groomed for Breakfast. He’s happy where he is,’ they added.
Besides, Joel has re-signed for another year on the Tim, Joel & Ricki-Lee show alongside Tim Blackwell and Ricki-Lee Coulter, a trio that the network does not want to dismantle.
‘Drive is stable, profitable and performing well,’ a separate source revealed.
‘There is zero appetite to break up that line-up.’
According to sources, the rumour mill ran rampant thanks to Joel’s history with shock jock radio star Kyle.
‘Joel famously filled in for Kyle on The Kyle & Jackie O,’ they said, adding that it was ‘early in his radio career when Kyle was off sick.
‘Listeners immediately warmed to him,’ they revealed.
With industry hotshots like Craig Bruce hedging their bets that Joel has the ability to shake things up, who’s to say that he won’t be disrupting the breakfast time slot in the future
Joel’s stint in the big leagues is seemingly ‘proof’ that he is the only young radio star talented enough to take on Kyle on the airwaves.
And with industry heavyweights like Craig Bruce backing Joel’s ability to shake things up, who’s to say he won’t disrupt the breakfast slot in the future?
Certainly not our source, who helped fuel the rumours, but hasn’t completely extinguished the flame.
‘People love a shake-up story,’ the senior programmer told Daily Mail.
‘But in this case, it’s simply not on the cards.
‘Joel’s not the next challenger to Kyle. At least not right now.’
