Shirley Ballas has no plans to marry her boyfriend Danny Taylor, 50, after admitting that she prefers an ‘unconventional’ relationship.
The TV judge, 63, who has been dating her beau for five years, revealed that despite it nearly happening last year, ‘he didn’t seem ready’ and she ‘didn’t get a good feeling’ about it.
The pair – who have a 13 year age difference – met at pantomime rehearsals for Jack And The Beanstalk in 2018 and have been inseparable ever since.
She told The Sun that the pair are both very busy and despite having not seen Danny since August when she took part in her week-long Skyathlon challenge to raise money for charity, she’s happy.
Shirley said: ‘We have a unique, unconventional relationship. It’s built on trust.

Pleased: The Strictly Come Dancing head judge said that even though the pair don’t see each other all the time, it works and she is happy with the way things are
‘I don’t want anybody else and, as far as I know, he doesn’t want anybody else and we talk most days on FaceTime. It is what it is, and I’m happy with the way it is.’
The pro dancer then added how she likes to spend her time saying: ‘I rather like the dark drinking chocolate, with a bit of trot, trot, trot! I’m 63, but not dead.’
And despite this years Strictly being the oldest ever cast, Shirley revealed she had a confidence surge after being inspired by Angela Rippon’s age-defying dance.
The 78-year-old, stunned viewers last week with a high kick that went over her head, resulting in some labelling her a sex symbol.
Shirley admitted that Angela’s impressive moves first made her feel ‘fantastic’, then ‘jealous’ and finally inspired to wear short dresses and show a bit of her own leg.
Earlier this month, Shirley said she found her sparkle again after she underwent a non-surgical facelift.
The TV star said she had grown alarmed by some of the visabile signs of ageing, including a loss of elasticity in the skin, which had affected her confidence.
After the procedure Shirley said it had really helped her feel better in herself to appear on prime time TV.
Success: Angela Rippon has admitted she is ‘enormously flattered’ at the idea of being a sex symbol at the age of 78

Professionals: Shirley is back on BBC One every weekend alongside (pictured L-R) Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke judging on Strictly Come Dancing
Shirley however, shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Her son Mark – who is a pro dancer and won the US version of Strictly last year — is expecting a baby with wife next month, so Shirley will take on the role of ‘Glam-ma’ as she fondly calls it.
She also coaches in between filming and is due to release her first novel next month, a steamy page turner, titled Murder On The Dance Floor.
Not only that but she is hoping to be called up for the next series of Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins after calling herself ‘a bit oof a daredevil.’
Strictly Come Dancing returns Sunday at 7.15pm on BBC One
