She had a glittering television career that included roles on Dallas, General Hospital, Days of Our Lives, and Falcon Crest, in addition to being one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1980s.
The veteran actress is known for epitomizing 80s TV glamour with her voluminous blonde waves and polished style while playing villainous but seductive characters on screen.
But prior to reaching star status, she started off making guest appearances on Kojak, Happy Days, and The Love Boat in the mid 70s.
Later in her career, she famously went on to play Nora Bing, the mother of Matthew Perry’s character Chandler in iconic TV sitcom Friends, years after starring alongside actor’s father in Flamingo Road.
These days, she’s still flaunting her signature blonde hair and looks as glamorous as ever.

The legendary sex symbol, now 75, was snapped looking glam last week while heading to a business meeting in the San Fernando Valley.

Fairchild’s acting career began as a double for Faye Dunaway during filming for the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde.
Next came the daytime soap opera Search for Tomorrow on which she appeared from 1973 until 1977.
The blonde pinup later took on small roles on TV favorites like Kojak, Happy Days, Police Woman, The Bob Newhart Show, and a few episodes of CBS Radio Mystery Theater.

When she starred on Dallas in 1978 as Jenna Wade, her career took off. She popped up alongside Robin Williams on Mork & Mindy and in 1980, was cast in Flamingo Road.
Fairchild next did small parts on Hotel, Simon & Simon, Magnum, P.I. and The Love Boat. She had a hit with primetime soap opera Paper Dolls.
Then she hit the big time.
In 1985, she joined the cast of the soap opera Falcon Crest, playing the lawyer Jordan Roberts for a season. In 1989 she joined Candice Bergen on Murphy Brown.
She played herself in the comedy films Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994), Holy Man (1998) and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007).
Fairfield won a younger audience when she starred as Chandler Bing’s mother, Nora, on Friends.
She shared memories of the late actor after he died from a ketamine overdose in 2023.

‘I wish he had reached out for help more,’ she told E! News at the time.
‘When I was on set with him—and I was occasionally when he was going through some of the problems—I tried to be there for him.’
Fairchild also worked with Matthew’s father, John Bennett Perry, during their time on TV shows Flamingo Road and Falcon Crest.
‘I knew his dad back in the day,’ she said. ‘And the loss of a child—the loss of especially such a wonderful, giving and talented child when everything seemed to be doing so much better—it was just very sad.’
Fairchild’s last big project was the Lifetime film, Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas, alongside Loni Anderson, Linda Gray, Donna Mills, and Nicolette Sheridan.
Fairchild was married to Jack Calmes from 1967 to 1973.

She was later in a long-term relationship with Mark Seiler beginning in 1987. She announced his death in July 2023.
That same year, Fairchild revealed she had undergone two secret hip replacements earlier that year.
The screen icon exclusively told DailyMail.com that she had the surgeries after a car accident in 2016 sprained one hip and tore her labrum socket on the other.
The Texan also recovered from a terrifying health scare, caused by hidden black mold in her LA home, which saw her gain a large amount of weight.
Fairchild said: ‘I had two hip replacements last year and I feel great. I walk a lot and that is very good therapy.
‘I’d been in a car accident in 2016 where I sprained one hip and unbeknownst to me also tore the labrum socket on the other.’
