On Tuesday evening, the actress, 53, took to Instagram to share a montage of photos with her former teachers and clips of herself talking about how much she appreciates them
She said that her favorite teacher was her elementary school librarian, who she affectionately called ‘Mom McCann’ because she ‘loved her so much.’
‘She totally understood my love for stories and books, and [she] fed me one after another,’ Garner recalled.
‘She let me help in the library during lunch and after school and during breaks. And she let me order new books and work the card catalog, and she even published a little story I had written,’ she continued.
She explained how McCann had pretended to ‘publish’ the book as she ‘made its own card for the card catalog and gave it a spot on the shelf in the school library.’
As part of her post, she also shared a clip of the librarian with the book that a young Jennifer Garner had created herself using a typewriter and pictures of herself with a teddy bear.
‘This is a special book because the author is Jennifer Garner,’ McCann said as she held up a book with yellow paper tied together with green yarn. ‘She wrote this book when she was in the first grade — T. Bear’s Trip to Mars.’
The now-mom-of-three also included a short clip with herself narrating over photos and videos.
She showed a candid picture of herself toddler in a stage outfit during a dance recital as well as portraits of herself dancing in ballet costumes a teenager.
