Sharon Stone has voiced her support for Sydney Sweeney after the Hollywood star faced controversy over her provocative outfits, MAGA views and Jeans Ad.
The Euphoria star, 28, appears to be back in with Hollywood’s finest after mingling with A-lists Sharon and Jamie Lee Curtis at the Variety Power Of Women: Los Angeles event on Wednesday.
Sydney sparked divide after she bared all in a braless sparkly sheer dress at the glamorous event, with fans calling her a ‘hypocrite’ for complaining about objectification.
She has also been at the forefront of backlash over her denim campaign, which was branded ‘Nazi propaganda’ by critics, and uproar surrounding her political stance.
Defending the star with a defiant and powerful speech at the ceremony, Sharon declared: ‘It’s okay to be hot… use what mama gave you’.
Sharon, famed for her role as Catherine Tramell in the 1992 film Basic Instinct, became a sex symbol in the 1990s.

Proving she is fully onboard with Sydney’s racy and controversial looks, Sharon added: ‘It’s okay to use what mama gave you. It’s really fine.
‘It’s hard to be hot, and I think we all know that. It’s really okay to use every bit of hotness you have – right here, right now – and go for whatever that is.
‘Everybody has their own certain kind of hotness, their own certain thing, and you’re supposed to go for that. Because who are you not to be beautiful? You know, who you are isn’t an accident.’
Sydney and Sharon have been working on Euphoria Season 3 for several months now.
Industry experts have declared Sydney’s carefully calculated decisions to wear racy ensembles is to ‘stir controversy’.
Indeed she did as the star slipped into a very revealing sheer dress at the Variety event, sparking uproar from fans.
The backlash began after the star delivered a vulnerable speech about resilience, identity and being underestimated in the industry.
‘I’m not a fighter in the ring, but I recognize something of myself in [Christy Martin],’ Sweeney said while discussing her role portraying the trailblazing boxer in her upcoming film Christy.

The actress said Martin’s story – as a gay woman in male-dominated boxing who was victimized by her husband and trainer – resonated deeply with her.
‘I know what it feels like to be underestimated, to have people define you before you’ve had a chance to define yourself. I know what it feels like to have to prove that you deserve to be here, to be seen, to be taken seriously,’ Sweeney said.
‘But every one of us has our own fight, and Christy reminds us all that strength doesn’t look loud sometimes, and sometimes it’s just about getting back up again and again, no matter who’s watching.’
While Sydney’s speech drew applause in the room, online reaction was far more brutal, with many accusing the actress of contradicting her own message about objectification by wearing a sheer dress that fully exposed her chest.
Critics wrote: ‘You’re right. No one knows hardship like a thin, blonde, straight, white woman lol’,
‘She’s literally at the Power of Women podium talking about being underestimated while wearing a dress that puts her body on display more than her message. How are we supposed to focus on her words when the first thing being presented is her chest?’
‘I’m not shaming her, but this is the wrong setting. This event is supposed to honor strength, substance, and leadership not play into the same visual objectification women have fought against for decades. We deserve better representation of empowerment. She is not it.’
One critic claimed that the more they watched the speech ‘the more ridiculous’ it seemed.

With Sydney once Hollywood’s darling, questions have been raised over why her involvement at the Emmys was so limited – with it suggested that it may have something to do with the recent controversies she has faced
‘Underestimated, defined by others, having to prove your existence… Girl, you are not a marginalized person. You’re a celebrity actress with Aryan features who has never experienced discrimination,’ they scoffed.
Others said Sweeney’s ‘speech wrapped in this dress’ was a ‘joke.’

‘My body’s composition is determined by my genes,’ she said, and then stopped to add, ‘Hey, eyes up here.’ The camera then jumped back up to her face.
Some social media users slammed the campaign and labelled it as ‘Nazi propaganda’ while other fans branded the backlash as ‘unhinged’.

‘Sydney has flirted with controversy before — from her SNL Hooters skit to her recent Bathwater Bliss collaboration with Dr Squatch — and rather than walk it back after criticism, she’s leaned further in. That’s not oversight. That’s strategy.’
However, this strategy was no help when it came to ticket sales for Sydney’s latest movies, which were both released in August.
