Serena Williams was seen in a series of Instagram photos with her scarcely-seen daughter Adira, as she showed the toddler how to play tennis.
‘This is me sharing my passion for tennis with my youngest daughter,’ the 44-year-old sports icon said in the caption of the post.
The mother and daughter were seen tinkering with rackets on a blue and green home court, with Serena in a black one-piece outfit.Â
Adira could be seen carefully balancing the ball on a racket, trying to mimic her mother – a 23-time Grand Slam winner in the sport of tennis.
An Instagram fan predicted that Adira would be the ‘2040 US OPEN CHAMPION’ with mom already showing her the way.
The sport of tennis has been a Williams family tradition, as Serena’s father Richard Williams, 83, famously molded her and her sister Venus into tennis champions, as chronicled in the Will Smith film King Richard.

Serena in 2023 said that her older daughter appeared to have tennis talents, but ‘doesn’t actually like to play tennis too much,’ according to WTA.
Serena said her older daughter’s lack of enthusiasm for tennis was ‘a little disappointing.’
Serena added that she was still holding out hope for Olympia to get into the family sport.
‘We are trying to figure out a way to get her to play a little bit,’ Serena said.
Serena has been judicious in sharing posts of her children on social media, saving them for special occasions or amazing memories.

Serena three years ago said she was retiring to focus on her family.
‘These days, if I have to choose between building my tennis résumé and building my family, I choose the latter,’ Serena said. ‘I definitely don’t want to be pregnant again as an athlete. I need to be two feet into tennis or two feet out.’
