On Friday, the Anger Management star attended a Chanel-sponsored luncheon, bringing along her service dog Scout to the gathering at New York City’s The Greenwich Hotel.
The event was part of the festival’s Through Her Lens: The Women’s Filmmaker Program.
At the luncheon, she told Page Six that her canine gives her signals as to when it’s time to take her medication.
‘He gives me a little nibble on my nose because I can get a little spastic. He reminds me. I get really distracted so I need him,’ Blair told the outlet.
Blair has owned Scout for almost three years, as the service dog initially helped her with her balance and mobility amid her MS diagnosis.
Blair’s neurologist selected the Labrador retriever Scout, who was subsequently trained to assist the actress amid her health struggle.
Blair in 2018 went public with her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, which has impacted her ability to speak and use her left leg. She detailed her journey in the 2021 documentary Introducing, Selma Blair.

Blair told Page Six that years after undergoing a bone marrow transplant, she has been functioning better.
‘It took a long time to recover but now I’m finally walking really well,’ Blair told the outlet. ‘I’m wearing heels without a cane.
‘Everyone’s different with their MS and I have always been okay with heels because my foot can bend that way. I have trouble pushing off. Heels are actually easy because you’re just in a fixed foot position. So, it’s always been okay.’
