Mary Fitzgerald has once again opened up about her taxing fertility journey.
The 43-year-old Selling Sunset personality told Us Weekly on Tuesday, ‘I have had an MRI scan, a full body scan and I have to have a surgery on my uterus.’
Mary, who is attempting to conceive a child with younger husband Romain Bonnet, 30, added: ‘It’s gonna be an interesting process. It’s not going to be as easy as we thought it would.’
The real estate professional continued, ‘I’ve had plenty of time to process and, in the beginning, it wasn’t easy. I think that I’ve really taken a stance, and it’s become a passion of mine to raise awareness for women’s issues.’
Myomectomy is a treatment option for women who want to get pregnant as it removes the fibroids but leaves the healthy tissue in the uterus. This can be completed with an abdominal, hysteroscopic or laparoscopic approach, according to Loma Linda University.

Bonnet was by Fitzgerald’s side during the red carpet interview and added, ‘We’re gonna see how it goes.’
Speaking about her recovery from a septic miscarriage last fall, Mary told DailyMail.com: ‘I’m okay. It did take a while, and longer than I thought it would take to just emotionally get through it.
‘With the septic miscarriage, it physically took a toll on my body and so it took longer to heal and process than I thought it was going to.’
At the time, she said: ‘I know that chances of getting pregnant are much higher the following month after a miscarriage, but I was not ready. If something happened again… I just need more time.’
And when asked whether she would continue to document her fertility journey on camera, Mary said she would wait until she is past the 12 week ‘safe zone’ if she becomes pregnant again.
‘It doesn’t really change anything for me,’ she explained. ‘I mean, the loss is loss, and I might as well share it because I do think it helps other people.
‘It’s very common and I think the more open that people can be about it, talking to other people and understanding that it is very common and hearing their stories to for whatever reason, it makes you feel better.
‘So, I think people can help each other out by just talking about it more, making it not so taboo.’

She said about her husband: ‘He’s my rock. He is the sweetest, just most amazing partner I could have ever, ever hoped for.
‘And it’s crazy — I mean, we haven’t always had a perfect relationship. But I think we’ve done very, very well. We just keep coming out stronger and stronger with everything we go through.’
Mary previously told DailyMail.com that she filmed the gut-wrenching moment she broke the news of her miscarriage to castmate Amanza Smith just hours after doctors had delivered the devastating blow.
