The star, 33, would love to one day have a dinner table full of her adult children.
It's a sight inspired by a scene in the film The Family Stone, which stars Diane Keaton as the matriarch of a large family.
Gomez detailed her hopes for a large family during an appearance on her husband's new podcast, Friends Keep Secrets.
'I want four,' she said of the number of children she wants before bringing up The Family Stone.
'She [Keaton] basically has this scene, and it's a dinner scene with all her children and I can't get it out of my head, It has always made me feel so good inside,' she said.

'I said, "One day, at my dinner table, when I'm her age, I want to see that dinner table." I don't want, you know, not to say whatever happens, happens. If we're only able to have one, none... we don't know.
'But my dream for sure was that scene where they're all at the dinner table and they're just with their partners or their significant others or kids or single and it's just like beautiful cast of characters.'
