Selena Gomez Debuts Bold Look After Unfollowing Hailey Bieber

Selena Gomez unveiled a chic new hairstyle over the weekend after unfollowing her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber’s wife Hailey on Instagram.

After reigniting longtime feud rumors between herself and the Rhode founder, 28, the  pop star, 32, debuted a striking set of wispy bangs on social media. 

While it is unclear if her bangs are real or just clip-ins, the Sunset Blvd hitmaker teased that they may just be temporary. 

‘I would, but I’d regret it, then get it redone so I simply wont #bangs,’ she captioned a fierce selfie of herself posing in a fluffy white bath robe and full glam makeup.

In the image, the two-time Grammy nominee flashed her tattoo of a small music note on the side of her right hand wrist as she smoldered into the camera. 

Her bangs made another appearance in a sweet snap on her Instagram Story, in which she told fans that she wished she ‘could be with all the kiddos’ at the Kids’ Choice Awards.

Gomez went on to share a photo of her fiancé, Benny Blanco, accepting Favorite Viral Song for their track, Bluest Flame. 

‘I adore this man [pink heart emoji],’ she captioned a photo of her man standing on stage at the star-studded award ceremony. 

The Only Murders in the Building actress’ new look comes just days after eagle-eyed social media users noticed she and Hailey unfollowed each other on Instagram.

While the women have repeatedly denied being in a feud, it hasn’t stopped fans from speculating that their pair have fallen out over Justin. 

Gomez dated Justin on-and-off for years until 2018, when they split for good and he almost immediately moved on with Hailey.

The pair eventually tried to quell rumors of a falling out by posing together for a photo in 2022.

Around the same time, Selena took to social media to urge her fandom to stop sending ‘hate’ towards Hailey online.

In 2023, the pair went one step further in their reconciliation by following each other on Instagram.

They then quietly showed their support for each other over the past few years by liking each other’s posts.

Last December, Hailey liked Selena’s Instagram post celebrating her engagement to Benny Blanco.

Selena returned the favor in May by liking a post from Sephora that announced that Hailey’s Rhode beauty line would be stocked in their stores.

The move was seen as a major gesture given that Sephora is the official stockist of Selena’s Rare Beauty brand.

Given their mutual support, the fact that they’ve now unfollowed each other again has sent shockwaves through both of their fandoms.

‘Selena saw that Hailey became richer than her and got super jealous,’ commented one.

‘Selena has no reason to be jealous, if anything it’s the other way around,’ added another.

A third wrote, ‘Not again this stupid drama… imagine how tired we are.’

Last month, Selena was accused of shading Hailey following the sale of her beauty brand Rhode.

Hailey’s company was recently acquired by E.l.f. Cosmetics in a massive, $1 billion deal.

The mom-of-one, who welcomed her son Jack Blues in August, will still serve as founder of the brand as well as Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation.

Bieber launched her much-anticipated brand in June 2022, releasing only three products at the time – Peptide Glazing Fluid, Barrier Restore Cream, and Peptide Lip Treatment.

Since then, the brand has grown exponentially, expanding into different tinted lip products, blush and even viral phone cases that double as lip gloss carriers.

‘E.l.f. Beauty found a like-minded disruptor in rhode,’ said e.l.f. Chairman and CEO Tarang Amin Wednesday, per Business Wire.

‘Rhode further diversifies our portfolio with a fast-growing brand that makes the best of prestige accessible,’ his statement continued.

Following the news, Hailey took to Instagram to break her silence on the monumental deal. 

‘When I launched @rhode in 2022, I always had big dreams for the company, and the most important thing to me is to keep bringing rhode to more spaces, places, and faces globally,’ she wrote in the caption, which was accompanied by two pictures of her.

‘So today I am so incredibly excited and proud to announce that we are partnering with e.l.f. Beauty as we step into this next chapter in the world of rhode.

‘I found a like-minded disruptor with a vision to be a different kind of company that believes in big ideas and innovation in the same way that I do and will help us continue to grow the brand,’ her message continued.

‘I feel invigorated, excited and more ready than ever to step into an even bigger role as Chief Creative Officer, and Head of Innovation of rhode as well as strategic advisor to e.l.f. Beauty.’

In the post, Hailey also thanked her dedicated team at rhode and acknowledged that she ‘couldn’t have done it’ without their help.

Of course, she also thanked consumers.

‘As I’ve said, this is only the beginning,’ Hailey signed off.
