Nadia Bartel has shared a fascinating glimpse into the beauty and diet secrets behind her age-defying looks.
The former WAG and Henne fashion designer attended Derby Day in Melbourne on Saturday, where she exclusively shared her secrets for looking youthful at age 40.Â
While it’s easy to assume Nadia relies on expensive cosmetic treatments, the mother-of-two says that simply getting enough sleep has been half the battle.
‘I’ve got my Oura ring [a sleep tracking device] that I’ve had for two years, so I’m making sure I’ve got a really strong sleep routine, morning routine and night-time routine,’ she said.
‘[I like] having the right night-time routine that allows me to just settle into bed and have a good sleep,’ she added.Â
‘There’s no point in getting all the injections, taking all the supplements if you’re not sleeping well. I think that’s something that people don’t realise how much sleep actually restores your body.’

Of her morning routine, Nadia said she makes an effort to remain relaxed and positive as she starts the day.Â
‘I get up and I do all the things that make me feel good. Things like journaling, drinking water, having my supplements… being present with myself.’
In addition to these lifestyle optimisations, she has previously said that her skin routine involves using SPFÂ sunscreen daily.
‘SPF is such a simple but powerful step to prevent premature ageing, sunspots, and skin damage. It’s my number-one non-negotiable beauty product,’ she said.
She also applies a $69.95 Vitamin C serum from La Roche-Posay on pre-cleansed skin for brightness and glow.
Aware that wearing makeup and fake tan can lead to blemishes, she combats this by using a gentle exfoliating cleanser from Cetaphil.
As for her diet, Nadia said that eating more protein has been the ‘biggest change’ when it comes to her recent body transformation.Â
Indeed, Nadia is in the best shape of her life since slimming down and toning up for a Fine Lines’ lingerie campaign last year.Â

‘There’s no point in getting all the injections, taking all the supplements if you’re not sleeping well,’ said Nadia
She had previously excluded red meat from her diet and been a pescatarian since the age of 16. She later cut out fish as well and became a vegetarian.Â
But speaking to Daily Mail at Derby Day last year, Nadia said she’d seen a significant change in her fat level, skin and hair after reintroducing meat into her diet.
‘With being a vegetarian, I think I was lacking those nutrients. That’s been the biggest thing that I’ve changed. I consume heaps of protein,’ she explained at the time.
‘My body composition, my fat level, is so much better since I added meat back into my diet. Now, I love meat!’
As for her workout regime, Nadia’s go-to exercise is Pilates… and weightlifting.Â

‘I love working out, I feel my happiest when I do eat well,’ she said. ‘I love Pilates, walking and weightlifting.’
Men and women reach their peak muscle mass and strength between 30 to 35 years of age, after which it begins to gradually decline.
By the time a person reaches 40, muscle power and performance reduces slowly and linearly at first, and then more rapidly at 65 for women and 70 for men.
Weightlifting and strength training are among the best preventative measures you can adopt to counteract that natural loss of muscle mass.
