Mansion raid puts spotlight on Sydney’s Kardashians

Until last week, you probably hadn’t heard of Stephanie and Garrett Jandegian.

In many ways, they are your typical entrepreneurial millennial couple you find dotted around Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Rich, glamorous, not always discreet.

Stephanie used to be the Sydney bureau chief for Nine’s A Current Affair before transitioning into the health and wellness space. Garrett ran PPE supply business Pharma Soul, which enjoyed a surge in business during the Covid pandemic.

The couple is said to have made their fortune through Garrett’s alkaline water venture Aqualove, which he co-founded in 2017 before exiting the company in 2022.

The Jandegians’ Bellevue Hill mansion was raided by police in February. Daily Mail Australia does not suggest that either Stephanie or Garrett Jandegian committed any wrongdoing

They also own a portfolio of luxury real estate. Lucky them!

Then, last week, we learned their palatial Bellevue Hill mansion, which they’d bought in 2022 after it hit the market for an eye-watering $27million, had been raided by police as part of an investigation into unexplained wealth and money laundering.

Now I emphasise here the Jandegians were not arrested or charged and there is no suggestion either has committed a crime. Fancy houses do get raided from time to time by overzealous task forces without it amounting to anything.

But the no-knock warrant, carried out at dawn on February 6 but only reported on April 23, continues to be an endless source of gossip among media types and the eastern suburbs social set, who have long envied the couple’s lavish lifestyle.

For their part, the Jandegians aren’t lying low. Flanked by bodyguards last Thursday, they seemed unfazed while seen jewellery shopping in Sydney’s Haymarket before dining at a seafood restaurant on Sussex Street alongside their children.

The door-smashing raid has now drawn attention to members of the wider Golman-Jandegian family – none of whom is accused of wrongdoing – who appear to live an almost Kardashian-esque lifestyle.

Lauren, who has worked for ACA since 2017 and previously interviewed Samantha Markle, wore an intricate beaded gown by couture specialist Leah Da Gloria which featured long sleeves, lots of lace and a cleavage-baring cut-out.

One report at the time said the lavish nuptials had ‘to be seen to be believed’. I agree.

Less is known about the sisters’ younger brother Jake. The only rumour we’ve heard is he once had a minor bingle in Rose Bay.

ASIC originally made its decision to disqualify Mr Golman on December 14, 2020. He sought a review of the decision in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal but this was dismissed by consent on July 6, 2022.

The four failed companies owed a combined total of $2,776,850.60 to creditors, including $1,877,642 owing to the Australian Taxation Office.

Mr Golman was disqualified from managing corporations until December 13, 2024, meaning he’s now back in business if he chooses to be.

By all accounts, times aren’t so tough for Serge and his wife Vicky, with the couple residing in a spectacular Vaucluse bolthole, just a few houses down from newlyweds Lauren and Jason.

Mail+ readers will know the eastern suburbs lore that surrounds Matt Suleau, the dashing Fox Sports presenter and model with a reputation for dating older women.

With his Adonis-like body and perfect jawline, he could have his pick of the ditzy twentysomething influencers who parade around Bondi and Double Bay in skimpy activewear, yet prefers the company of ladies in their forties with a touch of class.

We love to see it.

However, society gossips tell us there’s been talk surrounding Matt lately because his stunning girlfriend, 41-year-old hospitality marketing guru Sharz Shabani Pour, hardly seems to get a mention on his carefully curated Instagram account.

‘There’s nothing wrong with being low-profile, but considering Sharz is so gorgeous we all find it a bit perplexing,’ says an insider.

‘His Instagram is pretty much just photos of himself at events, driving cars, sitting at the news desk. Why wouldn’t you post the perfect 10 you’re dating?’

A scroll down Matt’s grid shows him on the red carpet, giving speeches, preening with fellow models, doing the ‘blue steel’ in sports cars, and reporting from the Fox Sports studio… and no sign of Sharz.

Now, she does make an appearance in one of his pinned Stories from the Formula 1 six weeks ago – but you need to take quite the deep dive to find it (which we did).

By contrast, one of Sharz’s recent grid posts is a gallery of photos from the pair’s recent overnight celebration at Crown Sydney, which 36-year-old Matt had organised and for which he received a glowing shout-out in the caption.

‘The birthday that keeps giving! Thank you @mattsuleau for the super fun staycation.’

A week earlier, she’d posted another slideshow from her 41st birthday party alongside Matt – whose exes include Real Housewives of Melbourne star Simone Elliott, 44, and finance analyst  Maria Sprem, 50 – alongside a gushing declaration of love.

To add to the intrigue, we noticed the pair had recently unfollowed each other on Instagram, only to refollow one another when we made inquiries with Matt’s agent, who assured us they were still very much an item.

It’s that modern dating conundrum: Do I have to post about them if they’re posting about me? What if they like to share and I’m more discreet?

It’s a tough one and there aren’t any simple answers. All I can say for sure is the gossips of the east are starting to talk, so perhaps it’s time for a selfie on the grid?

One of the best things about living in Bondi is the celebrity-spotting. And when a new famous face shows up, the whole suburb takes notice.

Case in point, everyone’s favourite NRL sideline reporter Tiffany Salmond.

Now, Tiff and I have history.

She blocked me pretty much everywhere when I reported in February 2024 how her late-night phone call to Fox Sports colleague Jake Duke had led to the break-up of his three-year relationship with 7News reporter Grace Fitzgibbon.

I have an update on everyone’s favourite NRL sideline reporter Tiffany Salmon, who recently moved from her native New Zealand to the bright lights of Sydney

I understand Tiffany insisted to friends she had no idea Jake had a girlfriend when she called him, and it is not suggested the two ever had a romantic relationship. 

Anyway – that’s all in the past, and the buxom brunette has well and truly moved on. 

Indeed, she revealed last month she was leaving her native New Zealand, where she worked as a freelance interviewer for Warriors home games, for the bright lights of Sydney.

And lo and behold, I spotted my new Bondi neighbour last weekend sauntering her way through the neighbourhood, seemingly without a care in the world.

In a tantalising twist, she may have even bagged herself an eastern suburbs boyfriend, after teasing her Instagram followers with a gallery of snaps from a fancy dinner date this week.

Now, there were a few clues it wasn’t a girly catch-up.

Instead of cocktails, there was a bottle of French champagne Ruinart, for which you can expect to pay more than $250 at a nice restaurant.

And I couldn’t help but spy a masculine-looking hand in one frame…

With interest sufficiently piqued, Tiffany played coy with her loyal (and mostly male) social media followers who were keen to know the identity of the ‘lucky fella’.

No word yet on the man romancing the hottest free agent in rugby league media, but as soon as I find out, The Group Chat readers will be the first to know.
