DJ Mallorca Lee has died just weeks after revealing his cancer battle.
The frontman of iconic Scottish 90s dance group Ultra Sonic passed away on Sunday aged 51.
His bandmate DJ KID took to social media on Monday to share the sad news. He wrote: ‘It is with tremendous sadness that I announce the sad passing on Sunday afternoon of legendary Scottish DJ, producer and long-time friend Mallorca Lee, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer just four weeks ago. He was 51.
‘During this incredibly upsetting time, my deepest sympathy goes out to Maria, Mallorca’s wife his children Angel and Oceano and his extended family and friends.
‘You will be deeply missed, brother, but your energy and legacy will live on.’

Mallorca had taken to Facebook just weeks ago to share his health status with his loved ones and fans just weeks ago.
He apologised for not telling all of his family and friends individually as he admitted he is still ‘processing’ and that his ‘heart is broken a thousand times’.
He wrote: ‘I’ve been diagnosed with terminal cancer, the doctor said it could be a matter of months.
‘I apologise for not telling all of my family and friends individually, it just breaks my heart a thousand times and I don’t have the strength to go through it all over and over again.

‘I love you all, the last 10 years have been the best of them all, it really has been wonderful.
‘Forgive me if I don’t answer your calls and messages, I’m still processing, even this post feels like someone else is writing it…
‘Love, that’s all we ever really have, our one true currency, so tell the ones around you what they mean to you, every day. LOVE LOVE LOVE Mall.’
Messages of support have flooded in for him including from close friend and Radio Clyde host George Bowie, who said: ‘This is absolutely devastating news. Can’t begin to say how broken I am by this.’
Ben Nicky commented: ‘Mall, it was an absolute pleasure to work with you back in the day, your energy and smile is truly infectious. I’m so sorry to hear this and am sure it is a confusing and scary time.
‘We’ve all got your back and if you need anything just let us know. Stay strong mate, keep family close and keep smiling you legend.’
Gary Beck wrote: ‘So sad to read this. You’re an absolute legend man.’

Someone else replied: ‘One of the best. I am heartbroken by this.’
Another added: ‘Oh Mall, this is unbearable news. I’ve followed you since Ultra Sonic established in the early 90s. My heart breaks.’
‘While a fourth wrote: ‘Gutted big man. Take it easy and sending you and your family all my love.’
