Scott Cam Upset with Block Pair’s Diva Antics

Channel Nine’s new series of The Block premiered last week – and one team has already managed to get co-host Scott Cam offside.

Yellow Team Ricky and Haydn have reportedly developed inflated egos over their time on the show, to the irritation of Cam, 62.

‘They already think they’re famous,’ a fellow contestant told this week’s New Idea Magazine.

The publication was invited to Phillip Island in Victoria to chat to Cam, who also complained the best mates were holding up proceedings.

‘Well, they are tardy,’ Cam sniped, as he threatened to start the celebratory lunch without them.

Fortunately, the Melbourne friends arrived just in time and things went smoothly from there.

It comes after Cam revealed during the series premiere that this year’s contestants on The Block will be doing it tough.

The renovation show host dropped a brutal surprise on the Blockheads – they will be camping on the building site.

On previous seasons, contestants start by building a bedroom in their homes, allowing them to have a space to stay in as they work on the rest of the house.

However, on this season, the first room the Blockheads must construct is the main bathroom, which means all five teams will be camping in tents on-site for at least the first week of the competition.

Earlier this year, Scott revealed that contestants on the recent seasons have less grit than they did two decades ago, when the show began.

‘The contestants are less resilient than they were 20 years ago, 15 years ago,’ Cam told news.com.au.

The current series of The Block was filmed earlier this year in the popular Victorian tourism hotspot Phillip Island.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal a Channel Nine-owned company purchased Island Cove Villas on the Victorian Island for a whopping $9.5million.

Situated two-and-a-half hours from Melbourne, the site currently features nine homes, a communal pool, a BBQ pavilion, tennis court and a children’s playground.
