By the time Scott McCristal and Gia Fleur walked into the Final Dinner Party, which will air on Monday night, their relationship was already over.

The episode will show an explosive confrontation between the former couple, who once looked like the strongest bride and groom of the season.

But what it won't reveal is just how calculated, rehearsed and deeply personal their final exchange really was.

Because Scott and Gia didn't just come to talk - they'd written letters to each other, to make sure their final words to each other would never be forgotten.

According to multiple insiders on set, things turned sour from the moment the couple sat down.

There was no small talk, no attempt to ease into the conversation - these two were there for a showdown.

Gia, still raw and emotional following her exit days earlier, walked in wanting answers

Gia and Scott had written letters to each other ahead of time. What happened next shocked everyone in the room

'You could feel it straight away,' one source tells me.

'Everyone knew this wasn't going to be a normal dinner party.'

Gia, still raw and emotional following her exit days earlier, walked in wanting answers.

Scott, on the other hand, had already made peace with the end of the relationship and wasn't there to salvage anything. He was there to put the final nail in the coffin.

Gia went first

According to multiple insiders present on set, it was Gia who made the first move.

Still visibly emotional following her abrupt exit from the experiment days earlier, she pulled out the letter she'd written to Scott and began to read it aloud.

'The room went quiet straight away,' one source tells me. 'You could tell this meant a lot to her.'

Scott's letter was cutting - and was the final nail in the coffin of his marriage to Gia

If Gia's letter set the tone, Scott's completely upended it.

Scott's letter changes everything

If Gia's letter set the tone, Scott's completely upended it.

Because while some cast members suspected Gia had come prepared… no one expected Scott to do the same.

'When he pulled it out, people were shocked,' an insider told me. 'Not one person knew he had written anything.'

Insiders shared that Scott's delivery of his letter was calm, composed and devastatingly final.

'I came into this experiment with the highest hopes of finding someone that I could have something real with,' he began. 'Sadly though this was never enough to appease Gia. I have been met [with] daily criticisms, belittling comments and threats.'

At one point, he referenced a remark he claims Gia made during their relationship: 'A line of six men would be waiting for a girl like me and desperate to have me.'

'Morally we aren't aligned. We hold different values of what a relationship should be and what a partner should be,' Scott read.

And then, the final blow: 'I'm not sure what it is you're looking for, Gia… but you're not the one for me.'

'It was like watching two different breakups'

Insiders say the difference between the two letters was impossible to ignore.

Gia's was raw, emotional and reflective, while Scott's was structured, direct and definitive.

'It was like watching two completely different conversations,' one source said.

'She was still trying to understand it… and he had already moved on from it.'

The reaction in the room certainly reflected that divide. While some cast members sympathised with Gia's vulnerability, others were struck by the clarity of Scott's message.

'He knew exactly what he wanted to say,' the insider added. 'There was no hesitation.'

The breakup that could never be fixed

At its core, this wasn't a relationship undone by one moment. It was a relationship undone by two people wanting fundamentally different things - and expressing themselves in two completely different ways.

Gia wanted communication, reassurance and ultimately closure, while Scott wanted alignment, respect and a clear end.

By the time they sat down at that table, neither of them was willing - or able - to meet the other where they were.
