Sarah Michelle Gellar, 47, looks leggy in swimsuit during beach vacation with Freddie Prinze Jr

Sarah Michelle Gellar took a New Year’s vacation with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr, 48.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, 47, looked amazing in a pink and blue print one piece swimsuit that made her legs look a mile long despite her 5’4′ height.

She captioned the post simply ‘vacation’ and also shared a funny photo of a shirtless, shorts-clad Santa Claus on the beach with his ‘reindeer’ – a yellow lab.

The Cruel Intentions actress sat on Santa’s lap and they both made the hang ten hand signal.

She shared several other photos of her in two more swimsuits and two sundresses as well as a shot of the beach at sunset, a delicious looking sushi feast and a sea turtle.

The final snap in the series was an adorable golden retriever wearing reindeer antlers.

The Ringer star also shared a New Year’s post filled with festive photos with her husband and friends.

In that post, she wore a strapless pink maxi dress that showed off her tan beautifully.

She captioned the post: ‘The most magical end of 24 and the greatest way to enter 25 #happynewyear.’

In that post she shared an underwater video of an octopus for her 4.6 million followers.

Sarah and Freddie have been married since 2002 and share daughter Charlotte, 15, and son Rocky, 11.

The festive vacation posts come after SMG admitted that she was interested in a reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer after all.

Previously she had shut down the idea, but during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show last month, she explained why she’s now come around the idea.

‘I always used to say no, because it’s in its bubble and it’s so perfect,’ Gellar said.

‘But watching And Just Like That… and seeing Dexter: Original Sin, and realizing there are ways to do it, definitely does get your mind thinking, “Well, maybe.”‘

She also said that a reboot of Buffy could be any number of things, a prequel, a limited series, a stand alone movie or more.

‘It could be anything,’ Gellar added. ‘It’s a universe. It makes you realize that in this world, we need those heroes, I think, more so than ever.’

Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran from 1997 to 2003 and was adapted from the 1992 film of the same name starring Kristy Swanson.

Gellar played Buffy, a teenage girl tasked with fighting off vampires and other evil creatures.

Two years ago Sarah said she wasn’t interested in returning to Buffy’s world as she felt they had wrapped that story up.

‘I am very proud of the show that we created and it doesn’t need to be done,’ Gellar said about returning as the character. ‘We wrapped that up.’

‘I am all for them continuing the story, because there’s the story of female empowerment,’ she told SFX Magazine (via MovieWeb).

‘I love the way the show was left: “Every girl who has the power can have the power.” It’s set up perfectly for someone else to have the power.

‘But like I said, the metaphors of Buffy were the horrors of adolescence. I think I look young, but I am not an adolescent.’

But now she is interested in what can be done with Buffy and her friends – both human and demon.

Gellar can currently be seen in Dexter: Original Son as well as 2023’s Wolf Pack.
