Sarah Jessica Parker has said she ‘doesn’t understand’ the cultural emphasis placed on ageing and told how she has ruled out ever having botox.
The actress, 58, spoke about about double standards in Hollywood and questioned why men are not asked about getting older as much as women.
Speaking to The Telegraph, she said: ‘I am so confused by the fact that the majority of men my age are simply never asked about ageing.
‘We all wake up, have a million things going on, and just need to get on with our days – I just don’t understand the empharasis that is placed on the pondering of ageing.’
The Sex And The City star also told how she has no plans to ever have Botox, saying it could negatively impact her acting career.

She said: ‘I’m an actor – I have to move my eyebrows. I’m meant to be sharing emotions and communicating with my face.’
The style maven added she doesn’t think her husband, actor Matthew Broderick, would like the idea of her getting the anti-wrinkle jab.
Sarah previously told how there are three beauty items she swears by; a serum, eye balm and SPF from Roc’s Revive + Glow range.
Speaking to WWD, she said: ‘What works for me has worked for a lot of women for decades at an affordable price point.
‘Skin care isn’t this thing just for the rarified, like “I can’t touch it or I have to mortgage my house to pay for it.” That’s complicated, that’s confusing, those 10 to 15 steps.
‘I don’t know people in the real world that have time for it.’
Sarah recently collaborated with Roc Skincare on their Look Forward Project — an initiative to encourage optimism around ageing – and she is relieved to work with a skincare brand which isn’t obsessed with youth.
‘I’m probably less concerned about [aging] than I was a year ago,’ Sarah told WWD.

‘I just don’t summon the time and energy to be worried.
‘And to hear a large skin care line say, “we don’t want you to, we’re not going to pretend that we’re changing this process of waking up another day,” the relationship has been affirming, and it’s given me what I need.’
Sarah is currently starring in Sex And The City sequel series And Just Like That… which has been renewed for a third season.
