Married At First Sight bride Sara Mesa has broken her silence on claims she slept with her ex-boyfriend during a filming break on the show.
Tensions exploded on Wednesday’s Dinner Party after Eden Harper exposed Sara’s clandestine catch-up, a revelation that sent the nutritionist’s husband Tim Calwell into a tailspin.
However when confronted with the cheating allegations on Thursday’s Kyle And Jackie O Show, Sara made it clear that the reunion with her ex was completely platonic.
‘[The producers] definitely made that scene into something that it wasn’t. Like, I knew what it was going to look like, and I handled it very, very poorly,’ Sara said of the storyline surrounding her ‘secret date’.
Sara went on to insist that her days of having sex with her ex are ‘long gone’.

‘It’s very, very amicable between me and my ex. We run in the same circles, we have the same group of friends. I dated him the first year I moved to Australia… So whenever we see each other we catch up, and that’s all,’ she explained.
Jack Dunkley also joined Sara for her radio interview, and couldn’t resist stirring the pot by comparing his own relationship dramas with Sara’s secret meeting with her ex.
Jack suggested it was unfair that he was condemned by the experts for dumping his ex-fling Courtney Jade so he could appear on MAFS, when Sara was also having sex with a man just weeks before the show.

Jumping to defend herself, Sara pointed out that she – unlike Jack – ‘wasn’t dating’ the man she was having sex with before going on the show.
‘I wasn’t dating him. I was actually in a very physical relationship with that ex. At that point I was not dating him and I didn’t break up with him to go on a television show. We weren’t together,’ she snapped.
Refusing to step down, Jack hit back: ‘The question is, so you had sex with him while you were in your process of getting on the show? So you were having conversations with the experts as well? Is that right?’

Sara refused to give in, telling Jack a ‘girl’s got needs’ and that she shouldn’t be expected to abstain from sex for six months during the application process for MAFS.
‘You weren’t friends with benefits, Jack. You were in a serious relationship. Your ex is all over Instagram posting about how serious your relationship was,’ Sara told him.
Jack however argued that he was only dating Courtney for 14 weeks, and that their relationship was ‘nothing more than a casual, respectful catch-up off Tinder’.
