His performance as host of the Logie Awards last year was a smash hit with fans.
And now funnyman Sam Pang has revealed big plans for his return gig as master of ceremonies for TV’s night of nights this Sunday.
Appearing on Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren on Tuesday, the 50-year-old comedian warned listeners that he may end up facing a struggle to get through the famously epic length show.
Joking with co-hosts Jason Hawkins and Lauren Phillips that he might need ‘booze’ to survive the show, Sam said he was, ‘gonna really have a crack this year’.
‘I’ll be stumbling out at the end… I may really just not make it,’ he said, before adding: ‘No, I had a good time [last year.] It’s great to be back.’
Sam’s comments come after Jase jested that the solution to survive the Logies lengthy run time was ‘more booze’.
Elsewhere in the chat Sam revealed that the 2023 Logies ceremony ran for an incredible four hours and 10 minutes.
Sam then tried to explain why the awards dragged on.

‘It’s an interesting one,’ he began.
‘[The evening] comes out of the blocks quickly, and there’s awards and it feels like you get to about the two-hour mark.
‘And then, I don’t know, something happens. It comes to a grinding halt. Speeches get longer…’
Known for his quick wit, Sam joked during the segment that the Logies show was so long ‘people can have a midlife crisis in the middle of the ceremony.’
Channel Seven’s Logies telecast last year was a ratings blockbuster for the network, drawing in an impressive 877,000 viewers.
And fans credited Sam Pang hosting as the secret for the show’s success, with many tuning in to the Logies for the first time just to see him.
Sam’s blistering series of gags at the expense of television’s biggest stars and biggest stars was a major highlight.
The courageous host took a aim at everything from gross reality TV to the scandalous private lives of celebrities.
Sam’s opening monologue included a dig at Married at First Sight, saying the controversial reality show is ‘a clear sign we’ll not make it a species’.
But he saved a particularly sharp crack for Karl Stefanovic and his infamous Noosa brawl involving cricket great Michael Clarke.
‘Karl Stefanovic said yes, as long as the show was held in a park in Noosa,’ Sam quipped after joking that the television host was offered a chance to host the Logies.

‘Can’t we have just 3 hours of Sam Pang ripping the Australian TV industry to sheds,’ one fan tweeted in praise of Sam.
Others were quick to agree, with one viewer tweeting: ‘Can we have Sam Pang host every single TV Week Logies Awards from now on?’
‘Never ever watch the Logies,’ tweeted another, before adding: ‘But Sam Pang is crushing it and Channel Seven are unable to do anything about it. Go Sam Pang.’
Another viewer agreed: ‘The only reason I’m watching the Logies is Sam Pang. Honestly the funniest man on Australian television right now.’
