Sam Claflin appeared in good spirits as he was seen filming some night scenes in Manchester for the upcoming Amazon Prime’s limited series Lazarus.
The actor, 37, wrapped up in a brown coat as he got into his brand-new character for a new story written by the American author Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst.
The Me Before You star was snapped filming under the drizzle, as also the police joined on set for the fictional crime investigation scene.
The Hunger Games alum was then seen laughing, as he ditched his smart coat for a navy padded jacket.
Filming for the psychological mystery thriller began, and alongside Sam will star Love Actually favourite Bill Nighy and Welsh star Alexandra Roach, Variety reported earlier this week.

According to its synopsis, the series tells the story of a man ‘who returns home after his father’s suicide and begins to have disturbing experiences that can’t be explained. He quickly becomes entangled in a series of cold-case murders as he grapples with the mystery of his father’s death and his sister’s murder 25 years ago’.
With Coben and Brocklehurst serving as writers and executive producers, the Daisy Jones & The Six star will have his hands full as he will be executive producer as well.
Coben flaunts an overall deal with Netflix – especially after the groundbreaking success of Fool Me Once starring Michelle Keegan – but as Lazarus is an original idea, it doesn’t concern that kind of contract.
Returning to Prime screens after his role as Billy Dunne in Daisy Jones & The Six – Sam will star as Laz, who is described as a ‘well-respected forensic psychologist who has spent his whole life running from the pain of his past’.
But it seems he will be forced to face demons from the past when he finally returns home.
Heather Curtis, current series executive for Pan-English scripted SVOD TV at Amazon MGM Studios said: ‘Lazarus’ is a gripping series that captures your attention from the very beginning.
‘We’re thrilled to unite with Harlan, Danny, Quay Street, and the all-star cast of Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, and Alexandra Roach to tell this compelling story for our global Prime Video customers.’
Alexandra, 36, who is known for her roles in The Iron Lady and Killing Eve, will play Jenna Lazarus.

‘Do I have to say more than the names Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, and Alexandra Roach to express my excitement about this limited series?’ Coben said thrilled.
He went on detailing: ‘Lazarus’ is a story of loss, redemption — and the eternal bond between a parent and a child, even after death. It is never anything less than a thrill to team up again with Danny Brocklehurst and Quay Street Productions.’

Meanwhile Amazon had previously aired thriller series Shelter – based on Coben’s namesake novel.

‘It’s about fathers and sons, love and loss. We have attempted to bring our trademark wit and warmth as well as twists galore. This is the first collaboration the team at Quay Street, Harlan and myself have done with Amazon and we are delighted to be partnering with them.’
