The singer–songwriter cleared up speculation from fans who suggested that her upcoming album might feature lyrics inspired by the Saltburn actor.
She also shared about what it was like for the Oscar nominee to take a starring role in her Please Please Please music video.
The star may have disappointed some fans hoping for a bigger peek into her relationship when she admitted that she tries to steer clear of topical material for her lyrics.
‘It feels easier to write about things that happened in the past, or that haven’t happened yet,’ she said.
Although she can get more clarity with enough distance, the delayed songwriting process seems to have caused some concerns in the studio.
‘My producers tell me I’m beating a dead horse because I’ll write a song three years after I last spoke to the person who inspired the lyric,’ Sabrina admitted.
Despite her claims to focus on things in the rearview mirror, Sabrina notably had her actor boyfriend star in her music video for Please Please Please, which includes lyrics about a boyfriend who is an actor.
According to her, Barry was totally on board for the music video shoot, as he was already a fan of the tune.
‘He loved the song. He’s obsessed with the lyrics, and I’m so grateful for that,’ Sabrina gushed.
She also took a moment to sing Barry’s praises in the wake of multiple acclaimed films, including The Banshees Of Inisherin, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Earlier this summer, Sabrina and Barry took their relationship to the next level with their red carpet debut at the Met Gala on May 6.
The lovebirds first met each other at the Givenchy runway presentation in September for Paris Fashion Week.
However, the two weren’t linked until late last year, when they were seen out on a date in Los Angeles’ tony Brentwood neighborhood in early December.
Prior to his romance with Sabrina, Barry was in a two-year relationship with the dental nurse Alyson Kierans, with whom he shares his son Brando, who was born in August 2022, while Barry was filming Saltburn.
