Sabrina Carpenter has revealed how her Short and Sweet Tour was inspired by Taylor Swift.
The tour saw Sabrina, 25, deliver a series of raunchy shows across America last year, and she’s set to kick off the European leg next month.
But a year earlier Sabrina was also opening for the 35-year-old’s Eras Tour.
The experience was an eye-opening one for Sabrina, who revealed how the tour served as the catalyst for her own wildly successful run.
‘Her stadiums make my shows look like clubs,’ she told Vogue. ‘Watching her keep their attention as if she’s playing in their living room, it was like — and I told her this — “Your tour enabled me to do mine.”‘
Carpenter’s tour is famously naughty, with the songstress embracing her risque side all throughout the show and even simulating sex scenes on stage.

She also does a series of sexy poses during her Juno act where she asks the audience, ‘Have you ever tried this one?’
‘Well, initially I thought I’d just rotate between a couple, but I have this relationship with my fans where I know they want more from me,’ she told Vogue of the Juno positions.
‘I don’t want to let them down. So sometimes I go: Oh, you know what? F**k it. It’s Thursday. Let me give them a new one. And then it turned into: I should look up the 500 positions on the internet. And I realized: I’m in platform boots. There’s one of me. There’s only so many I can do by myself, with a microphone in my hand, and in two and a half seconds.
‘So, um, bless me for Europe. I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I just try to have fun in the moment. That’s where most of those ideas come from. It’s really just like: I’m in Chicago. What’s Chicago gonna love?’
On the other hand, Taylor’s concerts are nothing like Sabrina’s and are definitely more family friendly, but she has incorporated a few spicy moves into her routines.
Previously Sabrina said opening for Swift was a ‘dream come true.’
‘I’m not gonna say I peed my pants because that sounds really graphic and maybe not sanitary,’ she told Who What Wear of learning she would be touring with Swift, ‘but I think it really just caught me off guard.’

While Swift’s concerts are definitely more family friendly than Sabrina’s, she has injected some spicy moves into her shows

‘It was very much a childhood dream come true,’ she continued.
Sabrina became a household name as an actress, starring in Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World from 2014 until 2017.
She sang the series’ theme song alongside Rowan Blanchard, her co-star on the show.
Her debut single Can’t Blame a Girl For Trying in March 2014; her debut album Eyes Wide Open dropped 2015.
She followed up albums Evolution in 2016, Singular: Act I, Singular: Act II and Emails I Can’t Send in 2022.
Carpenter has never shied away from embracing her risque side on stage
The latter album featured the track Nonsense, which went viral on Tik Tok.
Sabrina was the opening act for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in 2023 – 2024 for a select number of shows, cementing her status as an It Girl in the music world.
Her sixth album Short n’ Sweet was released in August 2024, featuring hit songs Espresso, Taste and Please Please Please – which all became worldwide hits.
The pop star recently won her first Grammy award – and also collected a second Grammy as well – during the ceremony one week prior.
