Ryan Thomas’ mum has revealed that she was catfished on a dating app by a ‘silver-haired gorgeous fella’ who had claimed to be a male model.
Gail Waring chatted about being ‘wooed’ by someone while trying out online dating only for things not to be quite as they first seemed.
Speaking to Ryan and his brother on their At Home With The Thomas Bros podcast she opened up about the incident.
She told how she was chatting to the man before getting suspicious and Googling his profile picture only to realise that the image was that of a male model.
In the podcast, Scott asks Gail: ‘Didn’t you try a couple of dating apps but you gave up on the end didn’t you?’
She responded: ‘Oh no I got catfished. These guys put pictures of male models on in America and he was wooing me for about 24 hours with this picture of this male model – a silver-haired gorgeous looking fella.’

‘He was saying ‘you’re my princess and all that’ and then I Googled his picture and it was a male model. Anyway, I was totally catfished.’
Scott asked his mum how she was wooed as Gail went on to explain: ‘He was saying, ‘do you love flowers my princess? I’ll shower you with flowers.’ I thought, this is too good to be true!’
When asked by Scott if she’s ready to ‘get back in the mix now,’ Gail said she wasn’t really thinking about it before saying the boys should be more helpful in finding her a partner.
Scott then quipped: ‘I can’t even get myself a girlfriend,’ before Ryan added: ‘Do you think I’m going to go around and say, ‘do you want to take my mum out for a drink and back to your house?”
It comes after earlier this month Lucy Mecklenburgh poked fun at rumours she is having an affair with Ryan’s brother Scott with a hilarious video.
The former TOWIE star, 34, and Ryan, 41, shared a video of her giving her future brother-in-law Scott, 37, a hug in the hallway of her house.
While they embraced, a caption on the clip read: ‘When your brother starts getting suspicious of all the rumours…’
In hilarious scenes, Lucy then asks the former Love Island hunk if he’s been working out, where Scott replies how he’s been to the gym ‘a couple of times a week’.

Former Coronation Street star Ryan – who is hiding on a door pretending to be a coat – then drops his legs down and reveals himself to them.
As the actor grimly stares at them both, Scott says: ‘I’ll be going then.’
The sketch came after false rumours began to swirl that the pair were having an affair after Scott revealed how he and Lucy are both ‘so alike’ and often talk on the phone.
Scott addressed the rumours on social media from fans following his admission on the latest episode of his podcast with Ryan and his other brother Adam, 37.
Speaking on At Home With The Thomas Bros, he explained: ‘The fact that we were so open with each other I would have thought it was a clear sign that it’s not anything untoward.’
‘I’ll be honest I was a bit uncomfortable with it,’ Ryan jokingly replied.
The dad-of-three then added: ‘I actually don’t care and don’t see any of this, I love how close we are as a family, but get a bird mate!’
Scott then joked how he actually had eyes for Adam’s wife Caroline Daly, who he married in 2017.
