Ryan Reynolds enjoyed a spontaneous family reunion while in Manhattan on Tuesday when he randomly ran into his big brother Terry Reynolds.
Coincidentally, the Canadian siblings were sporting the same exact £25 baseball cap baring the embroidered seal of Welsh professional soccer team Wrexham AFC, which Ryan co-owns with Rob McElhenney.
‘I’m not sure what the odds are of running into your own brother while doing separate things in NY for the day,’ Terry captioned his Instagram snap.
‘8.5 million people and we practically collided.’
The Reynolds Brothers’ mother Tammy Stewart Reynolds sweetly commented: ‘They’ll always be my little boys!’

What are the odds? Ryan Reynolds (pictured October 9) enjoyed a spontaneous family reunion while in Manhattan on Tuesday when he randomly ran into his big brother Terry Reynolds

Only in the Big Apple! Coincidentally, the Canadian siblings were sporting the same exact £25 baseball cap baring the embroidered seal of Welsh professional soccer team Wrexham AFC, which Ryan co-owns with Rob McElhenney
The Bedtime Stories with Ryan host – who turned 47 on Monday – Instastoried the same snap and marveled: ‘8.5 million people in NYC. Ran smack into my brother out of nowhere. He was even wearing his Ryan Reynolds costume. WTF!’
Ryan is the youngest of four brothers – including Jeff and Patrick – but sadly their father James Chester Reynolds passed away, age 74, in 2015 after battling Parkinson’s disease.
‘You sort of cultivate all these other aspects, survival aspects, that you wouldn’t normally cultivate, you know, being the oldest,’ Reynolds explained to SiriusXM EW Radio in 2020.
‘It’s something I always related to and I think that’s why I connected to the [Deadpool] 11 years ago. As a kid, I was the youngest of four boys. I wasn’t considered a younger brother, I was considered a moving target.
‘The way I stayed alive was with my mouth because I’m not going to win with my fists. I felt like I was sort of rehearsing for Deadpool from the get-go.’
Terry – who’s an avid beekeeper – was believed to have followed James’ footsteps as a British Columbia Mountie, but his current Instagram bio only lists his baby brother’s companies Aviation Gin and Wrexham AFC.
Speaking of which, Ryan and and Rob currently executive produce and star as themselves in the second season of Welcome to Wrexham, which airs Tuesdays on FX.
Reynolds and McElhenney’s soccer docu-series is nominated for six trophies – including unstructured reality program – at the 75th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which happen January 6 and 7 at LA’s Peacock Theater.

The Ghosted actor is also executive producing and reprising his role as Wade Wilson opposite Hugh Jackman’s Logan/Wolverine in Shawn Levy’s highly-anticipated three-quel Deadpool 3, which hits US/UK theaters May 3.
Ryan and the Australian 55-year-old’s superhero characters already battled in Gavin Hood’s 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which earned $373.1M at the box office despite dismal reviews.
And when audiences last saw Wolverine, who’s healing powers were diminished, he had been stabbed in the heart and impaled by a branch by his evil clone X-24 in the 2017 film Logan.
Logan’s mutant daughter Laura and the other Transigen children then buried him beneath a wooden X to honor his time with the X-Men.
