Ryan Moloney has spoken out about the moment he learned that Neighbours was returning.
The 43-year-old, who plays Toadie Rebecchi, told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, it was ‘such a big shock’ to find out the soap was returning to television just months after its final episode aired in July last year.
‘It was such a big shock. We all said goodbye to Neighbours and some of us had sold houses, moved away and our kids had changed school so it was an absolutely unexpected pleasant shock,’ he said.
‘It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. When else would something as big as this ever happen so you have got to say yes and go along for the ride and it’s been quite a ride so far.’
Ryan revealed filming for the series started in April and he is ‘glad he can finally talk about it’ after the first episode aired last week.

‘I’m just so glad finally we’ve gone to air. We started shooting in April so we’ve been at work for quite a while so I’m glad we can talk about it,’ he added.
The actor also said it’s been really ‘nice and enjoyable’ working with several new cast members on the show.
‘Everyone is actually really really nice. It’s been nice, pleasant and enjoyable,’ Ryan continued.
He revealed a lot of drama will happened on the show in the first 15 episodes.
