Former Neighbours star Ryan Moloney has copped a serve from fans after making his debut on Seven's on Wednesday.

The 46-year-old actor looked and acted nothing like his beloved Neighbours character Toadie while appearing in the notoriously brutal survival competition.

Ryan received backlash after he berated his castmates several times during the show.

At one point during an underwater escape challenge, Ryan lashed out at star , telling her to 'f***ing dial it in' as she started to show signs of panic.

'F***ing concentrate and switch on. Focus on what you’re doing,' he ranted.

Later in the episode, Ryan threw a tantrum after his fellow comrades failed to follow instructions to keep their water bottles filled.

As punishment, Chief Instructor Billy Billingham ordered the group to soak themselves with their canteens.

'Fill up your f***ing water bottles first! Use your cups to drink... so you’ve always got a full f***ing bottle,' Ryan told the group once they returned to their billet.

When one of the group asked Ryan for his name after he started giving orders, he snapped.

'My name is f***king p***ed off because I’ve got two things of wet clothes because people haven’t filled up their f***ing water bottle, when all day I’ve been saying to do it,' he said.

One disturbed cast member was heard to mutter in response: 'Nice way to talk to everyone.'

'Toadie needs to settle the f*** down.  Acting like an absolute hero!!' one fan wrote online while watching the scenes unfold.

'How to win friends and influence people, by Toadfish,' commented another, while a third added: 'Ryan’s trying to establish himself as an alpha.'
